The last Final Fantasy Sakaguchi "truly" worked on was FF9. He was one of the writers. He took on more a business role after and Kitase filled in his spot.

They do see it my way, which is why they haven't washed theirs hands of him fully and wont untill the game is gold. They could have flat out released him on the spot but they prolonged it untill after MGS V is finised :) The dissociation is out of spite over fallout not failure to see value. They gave Kojima his own studio, his own tagline, his own engine. You dont do that for a average joe . Im not talking the series, but Silent Hills. Kojima's name being attached to the project was important. It was the selling point. It was reassurance.

Im not talking about sales but reception from community

It's the contract that binds him to Konami, not Konami itself ...

Recall that "value" is a temporary state. If they truly saw value in Kojima then they wouldn't go through all this trouble of disbanding his studio. Credit for the game engine goes to the programmers, not Kojima since I doubt he was in charge of the technical specifics ...

Kojima's name is a selling point yet your talking about internet gaming community reception ? Frankly not compatible ideas to say the least ...

Let's stop here since this is getting monotonous, off-topic and it looks like we'll ever resolve each other's disagreement ...

Sometimes, Dr. Doom would help the Fantastic Four or Magneto would help the X-Men. That didn't mean they weren't evil.

Konami has a plan to kill all non mutants. We just can't see it, yet.

Yeah, they already have plans for what they want to do. This is PR, nothing but PR.

They did issue it however that does not mean they will take it as a meaningful result to steer the company to our ideal direction ...

It's consumers that determine the future of a business and if Konami doesn't believe in the strength of their own many IPs like many other game publishers that do then maybe they should leave the gaming industry ...

What's the point if they don't take any risks to push out a product ? Silent Hills was their next biggest IP to Metal gear yet they axed it ...

There are very good reasons to doubt Konami's intentions ...

Here is the funny part - When  Kojima was fired and his team disbanded, everybody said, "I dont want SH is Kojima wont behind it, it wont be the same without his vision ", so KONAMI did just that. Kojima's name attached to the project was what all hype was about and without him and his ideas, was it worth Konami  continuing something that was not going live up to expectations set by somebody not on the project. Its like finishing a painthing, movie, or sculpture without any knowing any of the intentions or vision from the starter.KONAMI is not wrong for cancelling Silent Hills.

Your right, the consumer is what decides a business future, so why is it a problem that KONAMI focus on mobile when it pulls 20 mill a month or whatever they decide to decorate their gambling toys with?

Just want to point something out about the mistaken mobile dream. Those millions it makes, are all majorly concentrated in justa few games. That is why its called the mobile bubble. The dream is a lie. How could it ever work out when you are trying to sell multiple games to people who arent gamers. Its the same problem the Wii had. These people only buy/invest in a game or two. There isnt any magical market of opportunity there. There is also a market saturation with every little and bigcompany trying to pursue this magical pot at the end of the rainbow.

He is contracted "Now", before he was an employee. Kojima was fired/walked out, whatever but continues to now work under a contract. That window as an unofficial terminated employee to before the contract work they could have released him but did not because they wanted and he him to finish the game.

All the trouble to disband his studio and devalue him, yea who would have that spite/animasity to a average joe? You had to have been pretty important for that response.

He's important but he's not THAT important to Konami otherwise the negative news surrounding him wouldn't be happening ...

Dude!!!, its BECAUSE  hes that valuable to the company they're treating him like that. This shit storm wouldnt happen to billy the foilage modelor, or teddy the janitor, or bob the animal animator . Its out of spite of his fallout with the company, in order to garner spite like that you have been important/valuable

He's valuable yet they're treating him like shit ...

Where's the logic in that ?

It's the gaming journalists that are making a big deal out of this, not Konami ...
