The survey will be used for something.

Yea, in a few weeks/months they'll announce that most people who took the poll chose Mobile, even if that's not the truth, just to say that Konami's new direction is what fans really want.

Just took the survey. Have to say they were definitely leaning towards mobile. And apparently multiplat for them only means PC and mobile. No PC and console option, just "console only" for consoles.

Here is the funny part - When  Kojima was fired and his team disbanded, everybody said, "I dont want SH is Kojima wont behind it, it wont be the same without his vision ", so KONAMI did just that. Kojima's name attached to the project was what all hype was about and without him and his ideas, was it worth Konami  continuing something that was not going live up to expectations set by somebody not on the project. Its like finishing a painthing, movie, or sculpture without any knowing any of the intentions or vision from the starter.KONAMI is not wrong for cancelling Silent Hills.

Your right, the consumer is what decides a business future, so why is it a problem that KONAMI focus on mobile when it pulls 20 mill a month or whatever they decide to decorate their gambling toys with?

Consumers don't give a damn about gaming gods like Kojima much like how tons of people bought Final Fantasy XIII without Sakaguchi's involvement ...

It's about the TEAM, not the person and as such I as a consumer believed in the potential of Silent Hills. Yes they weren't wrong for cancelling it however that does not mean they were necessarily right about it either ...

If Konami makes a killing off of mobile then that's cool. All the more reason to doubt that they're investing on console gaming ...

Like I said before, it's not willful ignorance to expect to be dissappointed with Konami when you take a look at their actions ...

Huh? That was a terrible comparison. Sakaguchi has not been attached to Final Fantasy for ages and it still continues to be successful. That is the complete opposite to the Silent Hills series which has gone downhill since 3? That is why Kojima's name being attached to project gained it so much hype. Its Kojima, he cant fail. It IS about the person. How many times has Kojima tried to leave MGS in the hands of younger staff to be brought back due to his" TEAM's" lack of confidence. It happened with BOTH Peace Walker and Rising. Unlike FF that has continued to see successful under different directors. MGS or Silent has not. So not directing SH was more than likely a main reason for cancellation. Then Money, huge budget to Kojima? Fine, hes proven. Huge budget to new unproven director tasked with finishing someone elses project barely off ground? No way.

You can be disappointed in KONAMI, thats fine. Marking this survey up, issued by Video games sector, to just gambling product (nothing to do with this sector) or mobile destined when survey says otherwise is willingful ignorance.

Believe what you want. As long as you took survy.

Most interested in Contra and Castlevania. I'd also play Gradius, Bomberman, and maybe Zone Of The Enders.

Konami is really asking fans which of these franchises they should turn into a pachinko.

I don't even want to think about how a Rocket Knight pachinko would look like!

He was attached up to Final Fantasy XII but that's not the point. My point was one lone person does not make all the difference ...

Hype on the internet doesn't translate to the real world so Kojima's name been attached to a project doesn't mean much in the end ...

It really isn't about one person. Kojima ALONE did not make the series. There are MANY contributors to the franchise and you need to acknowledge that. If Kojima were truly that valuable then Konami would see it your way but the fact that they are aggressively dissociating from him speaks volumes ...

The survey won't mean much to them compared to consumer response and if MGSV bombs then this survey will have ended up as a useless excercise for them ...

BTW Silent Hill has been going downwards since the first one according Vgchartz but even then Silent Hill Downpour was able to muster up a total of 750K according to this site ...

The last Final Fantasy Sakaguchi "truly" worked on was FF9. He was one of the writers. He took on more a business role after and Kitase filled in his spot.

They do see it my way, which is why they haven't washed theirs hands of him fully and wont untill the game is gold. They could have flat out released him on the spot but they prolonged it untill after MGS V is finised :) The dissociation is out of spite over fallout not failure to see value. They gave Kojima his own studio, his own tagline, his own engine. You dont do that for a average joe . Im not talking the series, but Silent Hills. Kojima's name being attached to the project was important. It was the selling point. It was reassurance.

Im not talking about sales but reception from community

You are very mistaken if you think they are gonna let us decide anything and if that something wont be just a crappy micro transaction infected mobile game.

Watch the Jimquisition from 2 weeks ago and you will see that without dramatic culture changes there is no chance at all that this company is going to change.

This survey is most probably just the effort of a small part of the company that will probably be ignored. The only way this company changes is with a completely new management structure.
