Here is the funny part - When  Kojima was fired and his team disbanded, everybody said, "I dont want SH is Kojima wont behind it, it wont be the same without his vision ", so KONAMI did just that. Kojima's name attached to the project was what all hype was about and without him and his ideas, was it worth Konami  continuing something that was not going live up to expectations set by somebody not on the project. Its like finishing a painthing, movie, or sculpture without any knowing any of the intentions or vision from the starter.KONAMI is not wrong for cancelling Silent Hills.

Your right, the consumer is what decides a business future, so why is it a problem that KONAMI focus on mobile when it pulls 20 mill a month or whatever they decide to decorate their gambling toys with?

Consumers don't give a damn about gaming gods like Kojima much like how tons of people bought Final Fantasy XIII without Sakaguchi's involvement ...

It's about the TEAM, not the person and as such I as a consumer believed in the potential of Silent Hills. Yes they weren't wrong for cancelling it however that does not mean they were necessarily right about it either ...

If Konami makes a killing off of mobile then that's cool. All the more reason to doubt that they're investing on console gaming ...

Like I said before, it's not willful ignorance to expect to be dissappointed with Konami when you take a look at their actions ...

Huh? That was a terrible comparison. Sakaguchi has not been attached to Final Fantasy for ages and it still continues to be successful. That is the complete opposite to the Silent Hills series which has gone downhill since 3? That is why Kojima's name being attached to project gained it so much hype. Its Kojima, he cant fail. It IS about the person. How many times has Kojima tried to leave MGS in the hands of younger staff to be brought back due to his" TEAM's" lack of confidence. It happened with BOTH Peace Walker and Rising. Unlike FF that has continued to see successful under different directors. MGS or Silent has not. So not directing SH was more than likely a main reason for cancellation. Then Money, huge budget to Kojima? Fine, hes proven. Huge budget to new unproven director tasked with finishing someone elses project barely off ground? No way.

You can be disappointed in KONAMI, thats fine. Marking this survey up, issued by Video games sector, to just gambling product (nothing to do with this sector) or mobile destined when survey says otherwise is willingful ignorance.
