| Xxain said: Huh? That was a terrible comparison. Sakaguchi has not been attached to Final Fantasy for ages and it still continues to be successful. That is the complete opposite to the Silent Hills series which has gone downhill since 3? That is why Kojima's name being attached to project gained it so much hype. Its Kojima, he cant fail. It IS about the person. How many times has Kojima tried to leave MGS in the hands of younger staff to be brought back due to his" TEAM's" lack of confidence. It happened with BOTH Peace Walker and Rising. Unlike FF that has continued to see successful under different directors. MGS or Silent has not. So not directing SH was more than likely a main reason for cancellation. Then Money, huge budget to Kojima? Fine, hes proven. Huge budget to new unproven director tasked with finishing someone elses project barely off ground? No way. |
He was attached up to Final Fantasy XII but that's not the point. My point was one lone person does not make all the difference ...
Hype on the internet doesn't translate to the real world so Kojima's name been attached to a project doesn't mean much in the end ...
It really isn't about one person. Kojima ALONE did not make the series. There are MANY contributors to the franchise and you need to acknowledge that. If Kojima were truly that valuable then Konami would see it your way but the fact that they are aggressively dissociating from him speaks volumes ...
The survey won't mean much to them compared to consumer response and if MGSV bombs then this survey will have ended up as a useless excercise for them ...
BTW Silent Hill has been going downwards since the first one according Vgchartz but even then Silent Hill Downpour was able to muster up a total of 750K according to this site ...
