Do we think that the experts in any field have no life?  Do Actors have no life, because all they do is act?  Do athlete's have no life, because they just compete in sports?  Frankly, this question is embedded in 80's level stereotypes of gamers.

Have you ever wished to become a pro gamer?

Absolutely

Are you a pro gamer?

Nope

Do you like wathching pro gamers play?

Some games, absolutely, others not so much.

Is Pro Gaming Beneficial for gaming as a whole?

I think it has it's benefits.  Pro gamer's tend to find combos, juggles, skill affinities, and other such trade tricks, because it's a livelihood to them.  It also brings more attention to gaming, because there are some pretty big grand prizes in gaming now.

I think it's pretty cool that pro gaming is growing so large, and it's equally cool that people have been able to leverage their skill and passion into a quite well-paying profession.

Nothing wrong with making money with your hobby. Staying in an office at a computer screen for 8 hours a day and playing a game for 8 hours a day is different how? They travel the world making lots of money with friends. People should stop giving them shit.

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Making money by playing a game? Doesn't that sound familiar?

At first i thought it was the only way to be both fat and cool.
Then I fell in love with voyboy, saw him stream for Doctors Without Borders and suicide prevention (after receiving a suicide note on his stream)
I saw Hai streaming from the hospital after one his lung died.
Then Remilia recently has been the first female and transgender LCS player.

I like driven people, I think it's great they spent 10-15 hours a day working to entertain people, and end up inspiring them, or using their celebrity to help others.
It's also very human as they are a lot on social networks, and easy to reach out.

I mostly watch LoL competitive games (10 hours a week) and sometimes a few less known super players (mostly DamDam) and Evo for USF4 and P4A.

tfw you have no life yet you are not a pro gamer. No but seriously if they can get money while having fun, cool for them, I personally wouldn't be able to even try it as I like to alternate between games rather than playing only one

Iv'e been watching Broodwar for like 12 years they get my respect, The amount of skill required is crazy. Quake was the only FPS I cared for all others have been boring.

When it comes to esports and modern day like CS and LoL players I care nothing for but I guess it helps gaming overall sales wise but ruins the community side of it with elitist and trolls far more than games without a Pro scene.

I think they've figured out a way to make money doing what they love. I have no problems with it.

Not a pro gamer myself but if they can make money doing something they enjoy, then good for them. I've watched a bit of a few different competitive games, mainly fighting games and some MOBAs, and it's one of my favorite things to watch nowadays

For those of you who say you wouldn't want to be a pro gamer because you wouldn't want to only play one game: pro gamers do not only play one game. They play ONE game professionally, as a job, but of course they play other games on their own time. I see streamers all the time that will boot up games such as Dark Souls or Final Fantasy XIV in between games, or they talk about other games that they will play when they're not streaming (working).

As for the questions:

-Do You Think Pro Gamers have no life/are awesome?

Of course they have lives. The same as any person with a career does. People may only think they don't have lives due to outdated notions on what it means to be a gamer.

-Have you ever wished to become a pro gamer?

If I was good enough at a game, sure. But I generally have no desire to practice enough at any game to get good enough. If I could just *poof* become a pro gamer, sure, at least for a little while. I would at least want the experience.

-Are you a pro gamer?

I'm barely an average gamer.

-Do you like wathching pro gamers play?

Yes. League of Legends mostly, though I will also watch Starcraft from time to time.

-Is Pro Gaming Beneficial for gaming as a whole?

Of course. It helps build awareness and maybe helps people to realize that gaming isn't such a waste of time (it's just a hobby like anything else, really).

I would love to make my income from playing games. Having said that I think watching someone else play a game is about as interesting as watching paint dry, I simply can't understand anyone wanting to watch it. I have a similar problem with watching most sports too (including the ones I play).
