Forums - Gaming Discussion - PS4 and Xbox One *True* Exclusive comparison

Good list but I still feel like KI should be on there because the PC version isn't releasing till next year sometime. At this moment it can only be played on X1.

Just so everybody knows, I'm putting together a list of PS4/Xbox One games that are "platform exclusive" aswell. I haven't decided if It'll go in the OP as a bonus list, whether I'll just put it up in a post on here, or I might even make a new thread for it to keep the conversations separate. Either way, the list is coming and should, baring some massive incident, be up tomorrow around mid-day EST. I'm going to post the rules I'm following for the list now, and I'll be adding my definition of "True" exclusive to the OP presently.

For a game to qualify for the *Platform Exclusive* list it must:

1. Have only ever come out on a Sony or MS console/handheld*
2. Have launched for the PS4/Xbox One as it's own version

*I am making an exception for Rare Replay, since a good chunk of the games are indeed MS only games, and MS owns the dev and all of the ips in the collection.

I think you should be including all Game collections like the upcoming Uncharted Collection and Halo MCC since there only available on those consoles. They are technically exclusive. Halo 2 and Gears are remakes not remasters and i would probably even include State Of Decay since its an old game and had more then just a 1080p and 60 frame update. Thats just me. Its your thread do what you like, im just giving opinions/ideas.

Didn't that release in 2012? Howe is that old? GOW III atleast is 5 years old and an upgrade is an upgrade, no nmatter how you slice it.

Although I think HD remasters and collections should be there in a separate list cause many people don't want or care about remasters and remakes and since you could play them on cheaper hardware.

State of Decay was garbage on the 360, not going to lie, that game really didnt have the hardware protential to be great compared to the PC version anyway. Great game and great idea but suffered being on a last gen console, much like Crackdown 1 didnt have the power to achieve its visual goals. State of Decay is however available on PC so best not to include it. As for GoW3 thats a pure port/remaster.

Remakes should definilty count on a list of exclusives if the remake is only available on that console. Same with game bundles like Rare's Replay, Uncharted and MCC.

As I said I'm making a platform exclusive list that will include remasters, remakes, and the like. I am however only including games that have already launched. I'll add games as they come out though. Halo 2 will be included with the MCC and Gears is coming to PC. Though if it wasn't coming to PC I would consider including it as it's a full on remake.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

You have people saying "oh, my consoles library is so amazing! So much to play!" Meanwhile I constantly walk into my local Gamestop and walk out with disappointment and hundreds of dollars in my pocket.

Two inFamous games, Onechanbara Z, Sunset Overdrive, Crimson Dragon, and The Order.  That's what I own from this list (plus a lot of multi-plats).  Thank goodness for Wii U.

Can't wait until Tuesday!  Until Dawn and (if it counts) Gears of War!

This is the key right here. I have seen so many 'list' threads on here and other forums it's incredible. It's almost as if people are trying to hide their disastisfaction by comforting themselves with lists. If there truely were so many fantastic games to play, people would be busy playing them and havnig a great time. Instead, we are constantly presented with lists (this is not a dig at the OP :) ). A perfect example is PC gamers. They aren't on forums making list wars because they don't care, they are too busy playing games!

A true sign of game quality is how many games you are actually prepared to OWN and the attach rate of the console, not an arbritary list of names and numbers.

If someone has  the funds to purchase all these games they are happy to evangalise, then they may as well purchase the other consoles and just have fun playing all games as opposed to justifying their purchasing decision with names and numbers.

Just my opininon anyway :)

Thats fine, i think Halo 2, FH2, Rare's Replay and Fantasia should be considered in the X1 lineup even though they released on the 360. Ill add more as i find out.

Maybe you're right about SOD, never played it even though I had a 360. As for GOW III its not a direct port as you're saying, its pretty much one of the best-looking games on PS4.

Selectively including remakes and collections but not remasters doesn't make sense since TLOU R and GOW III R can only be played on PS4 and not on any other console. In any case then Tearaway: Unfolded should be included too then, you know cause it includes 50% new content :P

I do certainly see that (though no from me, at last count I think I have..50ish PS4 games). There does seem to be a general discontent at the amount/quality of exclusive games coming out for the new consoles thus far. Though I think the next 6 or so months should change that for owners of both the Xbox One and the PS4.

I agree, i think if the remaster is only available on that console its a exclusive and Tearaway Unfolded should be counted, but i am not the one making the lists. The OP is making another one which will include these games.

TLOU-R and GoW3 are really only upscaled smoother games of there previous versions, State of Decay had more then just an upscale resolution which is why i think the game sits inbetween a remake and a remaster.
