The only problem I ever had with a Nintendo system was my Wii that needed its disc drive replaced. Although I don't think I've turned on my SNES in about 10 years (maybe more) so I don't know about that.

My Nes melted at teh time of SMB3 the ventilation so was poor...
I must say I think DSlite is the harder to break IMO.
Switch!!!

The SNES is the console that faced the most abuse in my household without ever being affected by it. On the many occasions where a passerby yanked the console to the ground by getting his legs caught in the controller cables, I'd say that 4 out of 5 times not only did the console still work perfectly but the game wouldn't even stop playing.

There's people that kicked, slammed, stepped, and sat on my GameCube and it looks newer than my New 3DS
I had a copy of dinner Kong country that survived a fire and still worked. Also had a clear gameboy that had died up soda in it and also still worked. They don't make em line that anymore.

Goddam you, auto correct. Goddam you.
The only Nintendo system that isn't working for me is the N64.
The rest are still working, but the best one is imo the SNES, that thing is unbreakable.
The N64 or the SNES, if anyone says one of the disc based systems, they're being foolish.
Worst systems for durability are the GameCube (exposed laser that gets scratched and dusty), NES (pins break), and DS Lite (hinges).
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
Never owned anything Nintendo prior to a Wii, but currently have a DS lite, 3DS, 2DS, Wii and Wii U. The Wii had some insane usage, and only needed to send it back once for repair, and that was just to have its reader cleaned. It still works absolutely fine.
The 3DS has suffered some falls down the stairs and there's not a mark on it and it still works perfectly. The DS went in for repair a couple of years back because the charging port started to loosen, but once that was fixed it worked and still continues to work well.
2DS hasn't had so much heavy usage so it's difficult to say, but it's supposed to be the most robust of the lot in terms of surviving damage.
The Wii U has worked faultlessly since we got it 2 years ago. The Gamepad has survived being sat on, squeezed between sofa cushions and dropping. I had an intermittent problem with one of the Pro controllers which seemed to clear itself (one of the sticks kept transmitting left) but since that was bought separately, I don't think that counts.
All in all, I'm more than satisfied with the durability of the hardware of all my Nintendo devices, and with the excellent repair/support.
