Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why are so many gamers not into Japanese games yet are in to Anime? :<

No, most western indies are shite, the japanese games at least are in 3D and people are willing to pay 50$ over some 20$ western indie.

I think its a phony thing do choosing your profile pic just because of cosmetics, i dont like these types of people

Whatever you say, bro. Our little passionate projects don't hold a candle to them japenese dating sims and archaic JRPGs, so jelly.

I can't get into anime anymore, mostly because I am a slow reader. There is a decent amount of anime that I know and am kind of interested in, but I just don't have the time and patience to watch a show where I have to stop every 2 seconds to read every single line of dialog.
Yet, I am a Touhou fan... so there's that.

I'm actually considering learning japanese. I watch enough anime to justify it and it wouldn't go to waste. I get tired of reading subtitles and worried that what's being said is being translated accurately.

I am no longer into either, because they are repetitive, predictable, unoriginal, cheesy, always use the same archetypes and only appeal to teenagers with the exception of BB,MGS and RE.Basically I have outgrown Japanese style of gaming like most people I know, but I will watch Attack On Titan in the future and will get back to reading Berserk.

I have beaten uncharted 2 recentley and i found it very repetive and unoriginal with a generic balded villain at the end. And that game is claimed as some masterpiece by broad gaming community. It was full of stereotypes and cliches,

I'll get flack for saying this, but that pretty much sums up the entire repertoire of Naughty Dog. Doesn't necesarilly mean those games are bad though, not everything has to be original, creative and new.

I'd love a SMG3 for example despite it not being a new idea anymore.

Yeah i get what you mean.

Like in western, the animation/cartoon they use in games have huge differences to what you find on TV.
While for Japanese games, it looks very similar to what you see on Anime.

Well I'm pretty much the opposite. About 75% of the games I play are Japanese. But I never watch anime.

Animes typically have decent scripts and voice acting. JRPG's typically have horrid voice acting and poor scripts. The two aren't even close.

Because they are different things. /thread

I dont think so a lot of these jrpgs are pretty much like an interatctive Anime

Contrary to popular belief, Anime's don't make very good games. Not to mention the market differences. Manga and Anime as mediums have had more time to proliferate and basically become global, meanwhile video games are still heavily region centric. The very fact that the term JRPG even exists is testament to that.

Also Japanese games tend to rely more on content then on game play, not to say western games aren't guilty of it as well, but that content also has regional appeal.
