First off, let's take out the hate part, because nobody mentioned anything about hating either. Now, nearly all of the things? That is a pretty vast overgeneralization. There may be some similarities or there may not be depending on the particular game and anime. Something like Serial Experiments has very little in common with a game like Splatoon. I don't what "all of the things" are, but there are many things that are in one that are not necessarily in another. Can you compare the storytelling of something like Death Note to the storytelling in Kirby's Epic Yarn? The art style of Dragon Ball Z to the art style of paper Mario? Did you get stuck on the fight between Goku and Vegeta when you were watching Dragonball Z because you couldn't beat it? Did you have to grind in Naruto? (Well maybe all that filler could be considered grinding). I could go on, but that'd be pointless. People like things for all different reasons. Just because I like Japanese games does not mean I have to like Anime even if they have some similarities (and no they do not have nearly all of the same qualities). Liking one anime doesn't even mean I have to like any other anime. They're different things. |
Why in the world would you compare Death note to Kirby and lain to Splatoon?
The implication is never that being interested in one anime makes you interested into all Japanese games (especially considering that demographics are entirely off with the games you're comparing). Especially considering that several of the creators of both work on both. Why would a fan of Steins;Gate not be a fan of its visual novel or similar sci-fi visual novels? Why would a fan of DBZ not being interested in DBZ or other over the top action games? The elements that draw people into anime, feature predominantly in Japanese games, because they're aiming at the same demographic.
Obviously there are exceptions, but I do feel that there's a lot of crossover by design. If you feel differently, I bet I could point you to something that you may enjoy that you haven't tried.
They are 2 different things, simple.
When I look for a game, I look for coop, great gameplay, decent single player, so on and so forth.
When I look for anime, I look for an engaging/amusing story.
You may as well wonder why all pokemon players don't watch pokemon

Well you own a nintendo system with exclusives made in japan
And another "because":
Because Japanese games tend to be samey, tedious and stuck in some ancient mentalities. Enjoying anime doesn't mean you will automatically enjoy anything you can slap an anime face to and consider it "WOW! ANIMU!".
You are right, it seems like some jrpgs just try to be exactly like anime
Currently most hyped for: FFXV and Zelda U

I know japanese cartoons and japanese games are two different things but i dont understand why people dont want to try even one japanese game if they are into Anime, espacially the jrpgs. Whats your opinions are the two interchangble with each other for you? i am not Into movies or anything viewing related anymore just videogames. |
Well then, let me ask you this. Do you personally play games from American cartoons? The Simpsons, Ducktales, Lion King, Aladdin, Rugrats, and others cuz I can't think of more. Here are some new ones: Adventure time, Spider-man games, Ben 10, have you ever considered playing Fusion Fall, other again I can't think of.
You play games for their mechanics and gameplay, not for their characters. Mario has always had a great mechanics and gameplay has always been tight. That's why he continues to relevant and games for Sonic are not. Think of a good game, but set in an anime franchise. Yeah, DBZ, and really that's it. Naruto for second if you really want to count that series, never played them so I don't know.

They wish.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
I'm the opposite :D
I'm getting turned off by the JRPGs that try so hard to be like animes though.
