If there was so much money to be made on Xbox 1 then why more than half of those Japanese PS4 console/ exclusives aren't coming to Xbox one?

Because no one buys them outside of Japan and a very very few Americans/Europeans. Same thing happen to the ps3/360 towards the middle/end of the generation. The only thing they have to do with the ps4 version is change the text and the voice (which usually leads to A LOT of misinterpetation). Only big-medium japanese games (like mgs, ff, kh, ect) will be on the xbox one. And even then the games don't sell too well on PS4. Look at bloodborne. Very highly rated game, but sold less than 2 million on a platform with 25 million user base. That is why you see a lot of japanese publishers asking for help to make new games. Bayonetta, Street Fighter, Shemnue 3, ect...

Lol are you trying to corner yourself with that logic?

MS seems to have escaped criticism for their lack of exclusives for the first 2/3 of this year, their first party efforts, which have been few and far between for the last two years, and have successfully convinced a lot of news sites that only the holidays count. They were rightly criticized after the reveal, but since then I think if anything they have been given an easy ride. That being said, I only see the news posted on here, gaf and reddit, so they may be getting unfairly treated elsewhere, I'm only judging by the limited amount I have seen.

this.

i've seen countless articles commending microsoft for their exclusives this year while stating sony has a weak lineup and so. even though The Order, Bloodborne, MLB released, and Until Dawn and Tearaway are right around the corner while MS basically had nothing release.

But a lot of those games are either crummy (going by reviews) or old ports with little to no changes.

People use to think that I was anti-Sony. That wasn't the case. The truth is, I was very much pro Sony. The Xbox 360 wasn't even on my radar, even after the $600 PS3 reveal. Media outlets of the day were blasting everything Sony did (EGM, X-Play, and AoTS stand out in my mind) while giving the the competition a free pass and their full endorsement. When I finally did get a PS3 for MGS4, I was pretty shocked that it didn't give me AIDS. Around the launch of Uncharted 2, they seemed to change their tune but Sony was really hurting financially but then. Maybe they didn't like Sony's arrogance and had to bring them down to earth. Maybe it was all in my head because I didn't see enough different sources.

Fast forward to Xbox One. I actually like the Xbox brand (got a 360 in mid 2007). I got an Xbox One months after I got my PS4. Again, a lot of what was reported was false or exaggerated. They were saying how horrible it was to look up a Netflix movie on the One despite it having the exact same interface as the PS3, PS4, 360, and Wii! How terrible the Controller was. I expected to have an orgasm with the DS4 and for the XB1 controller to burn my hands.

-gotta go. Work time!

PS4 seems to be the console of choice to review console versions of multi-platform games. But that's also because the games tend to look and run a little better on PS4 so publishers actually want reviewers to use the PS4 version. So yes i guess there is bias but not really against Xbox One, but a preference for the PS4.

That isn't the reason, it has to do with which console is more popular. There were games running better on ps3 last gen over 360 and 360 still got reviewed over the ps3 and vice versa. It has to do with traffic and click bait.

Yeah, SOME games ran better on PS3 while many more ran better on 360 and Sony was boasting about the hardware superiority of the much more expensive PS3. No wonder that many gamers and a part of the media had some fun with that situation.

When Sony lost that attitute and lowered the price gap and released some killer apps, the media backed down. When the flow of great first + third party software didn't stop and the PS3 services got better and better (cross buy, cloud saves, PS+,...) it earn even more respect.

Microsoft is also on a good path by fixing former XBO mistakes, just like Sony did with the PS3.

G4TV was very much against the PS3 and Sony. It was ridiculous and shows how much of a hypocrite they all were. I still remember that Killzone 2 review where they were acting all innocent and saying "we aren't biased" and how they hate fanboys right after the Killzone 2 review. However, in the intro in the killzone 2 intro video review they said something like "good news ps3 owners, you can finally buy something other than resistance and anti depressants". Adam Sessler obviously developed some relationship with Microsoft.

No.

If anything Id say most american media is biased "for" the xbox.

This I can agree with. I haven't seen any site or news article that mentions anything about the Xbox One having a lot less games than the PS4. I typically see a lot of positive news about the Xbox One honestly. Good marketing or biased news or unbiased news? Definitely not the latter of those.

Because the Japanese are very odd about their business practices. They care little for foreign money and focus all their attention on how much they can make in Japan, true of many things other than games as well, and Xbox One only has the potential to make them money outside Japan so they simply don't care. There's plenty of Japanese devs that don't even bother localising their games, further showing how they don't care about foreign money. Of course there are some exceptions though.

How exactly did you answer my question? Money is money. If those guys didn't care about foreign money they probanly wouldn't bother on PS4. So how exactly are those devs getting their money back on porting games to X1 when they could basically work on PS4/PC where the actual audience cared. Or have you forgotten about the split ratio of FF Type0 HD.

PS4 does make them money in Japan though. Besides, they aren't even all in on PS4 often having PS3/Vita versions as well. And so what if Type 0 didn't sell well? Ports rarely do as well as their originals and the original was a PSP game. And IMO it wasn't even a good game either.

More often than not any game with significant western appeal from Japanese publishers will still be multiplat, see FFXV/KH3/DSIII as examples. Some of the mid range games are getting Xbox ports as well if they are from a good publisher (such as Koei Tecmo and their Musou games). And as for the smaller stuff? Well that's lucky to even be getting localised in the first place.

FF type 0 sold/ship a million copies and the split ratios aren't exactly there for X1.

Exactly please tell me the japanese games coming to Xbox One as well. You seemed to have forgotten about other things.Digimon, Persona 5, Dragon Quest Heroes/Builders/XI/Star Ocean/Disgaea/AoT/SFV.

What exactly are those japanese AAA multiplats that will sell significantly on X1? Not sure with it considering the discrepancy between PS4 and X1 are not exactly the same as PS360 gen. I mean the western sales splits aren't in favor of XB1. That's the reason were seeing a lot of japanese games going exclusive or console exclusive to PS4. That's all there is to it.

PS4 doesn't have many games when you factor out all the ps3 games and hardly anyone in North America or Europe cares about niche jap games especially when they score badly (which seems to be most ps4 jap exclusive games) .

Didn't say Japanese multiplats would sell significantly on Xbox One. I said those with significant western appeal will (or at least should) come to Xbox One as well. Out of those that you've listed SFV is the only one with any significant appeal in the west, but from what I understand was a moneyhat anyway so that kind of renders the point moot.

Exactly, all those jap games that hardly anyone in North America or Europe care about. Only street fighter 5. Microsoft probably could of fund their version of the game (capcom needed money to make the game), but they rather focus on their own fighting game (killer instinct).

You listed DSIII.  Basically that's a game I don't see any appeal. Niche at best. Even Bloodborne outsold the console versions of DS2 in US and UK during the time of its release.
