Yeah, SOME games ran better on PS3 while many more ran better on 360 and Sony was boasting about the hardware superiority of the much more expensive PS3. No wonder that many gamers and a part of the media had some fun with that situation.
When Sony lost that attitute and lowered the price gap and released some killer apps, the media backed down. When the flow of great first + third party software didn't stop and the PS3 services got better and better (cross buy, cloud saves, PS+,...) it earn even more respect.
Microsoft is also on a good path by fixing former XBO mistakes, just like Sony did with the PS3.
