Forums - Nintendo - Is Splatoon worth full price yet?

There is nothing in this game that indicates it needs to be $30 downloadable game, this is in every way AAA game (except of lack of some content on launch). Also Splatoon players and sales of game proves this.

The number of players doesn't prove that a $60 price point is appropriate, considering many players (from my own experience) are not in the USA. For what it's worth, European countries received this game at lower prices than the USA: http://nintendoenthusiast.com/news/splatoon-costs-just-35-in-europe. I'd be interested in knowing the breakdown in sales numbers vs unit pricing.

In US sell numbers are 540k till 31. July. More than half million in two months in US only, thats great sale and big success for new IP, especially regarding Wii U install base. So saying that "this package would be better as a $30 download" is nonsense.

Of course! I wish the campaign would have been slightly longer, but the online multiplayer more than makes up for it!

From what I've played of the game, I think its worth $20.

Well then, I'll wait for a good deal in december. Not gonna pay full price.

If by full price you mean $60, definitely not. The single player mode is adequate but nothing special and the online play, while fun, doesn't have enough maps or options (such as voice chat). What's there is extremely cute and polished, but this package would be better as a $30 download, not a $60 packaged game.

Is the single player campaign good? How many maps does the game has?

Bare minimum, but sure.

Still wouldn't buy it because of all the stupid bottlenecks, but sure, it has enough content for the asking price two months later.

To be fair, I only played the game for a couple of hours at a friends house. I enjoyed it but I think $60 is too much for a multiplayer game with a short single player campaign.

Single player is pretty good, nice mix of platforming and shooter, it has 27 levels and 5 boss fights, the final boss being one of the greatest things ever made.

Basically, another COD situation.

Oh, so you are in thread where 95% of the people is saying that is worth the price but for some reason you only trust the single one person that says it doesn´t, and he don´t even have the game. It makes total sense, of course it does.

Not really! Splatoon has a lot of variety in the multiplayer modes and there are also the Amiibo challenges ( I haven't tried them out, but I plan to in the near future) which add a lot to the game. I still wish the campaign would have been longer, but the game has still a ton of content.
