Forums - Sony - SONY should have bought SNK instead of Call of Duty DLC, they are losing their insight

In the recent years Sony has closed some of their studios (Zipper, StudioLiverpool etc.) and cut ties with some 2nd party developers like Insomniac and most recently Ready @ Dawn. Buying a publisherespecially one like SNK that has become more niche and keeping up their employees is something that goes against what they have been doing for years now and still keep on doing. Instead they concentrate on 3rd party royalties and bribing.

Insomniac was a 2nd party dev for Sony. always have been. You know what's really strange though contrary to you post.... is that they still are.

And its funny also that people mention studios Sony shut down then fail to mention the ones they acquire. Those things called facts can be a bitch can't they?

I believe that's check and mate.

"Say what you want about Americans but we understand Capitalism. You buy yourself a product and you Get What You Pay For."

The balance between shut down studios, and bought studios is negative but you are free to proof me wrong. It gets even worse if you consider their PC development department SonyOnlineEntertainment which was sold recently as well.

Snk has not been popular for years and even when it was popular they were not that popular. And they do best being multiplatform. None of their franchises benefit Sony or the other first party companies. Being bought by the company is probably the best thing for them. They probably would have went the way of midway without them.

I'm just going to assume that by SNK you mean Shingeki No Kyojin

Nintendo lacks the money right now. For Sony it makes sense to buy them because the Neo Geo was before the playstation it never tried to compete with Sony

They have almost enough in their warchest to buy out SONY, SNK's 60 millions are small fries for them

The Neo Geo competed with the PS1. Sure, it got released during the previous gen but sales continued throughout the whole following generation as well. There's a reason why games where still made for the system long after the Playstation was released.

so why isnt Nintendo doing all these third party deals? they cant buy Sony, its made up myth. Sony has higher assets and revenue than nintendo its something like over x10

yeah but did they sell the Order 1886 IP? they closes studios but they never sell IPs because they always remaster them.

I´d rather have them buy Crash Bandicoot.
No idea how much it would cost though, but I want Crash 4 and CTR2.

I don't think that SNK even has one IP which in today's market can sell over 0.5 million. Definitely not worth the 63 million price tag.

Send a Friend Request On PSN :P

So they should have bought something that no one knows about over something would move systems?
