Forums - Gaming - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 changes to cel-shaded art style less than two months before launch

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-08-06-less-than-two-months-from-launch-tony-hawks-pro-skater-5-changes-its-art-style

We played Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 back at E3 in June and while it looked and felt a little dated, that was kind of the point - it looked and felt like an old Tony Hawk's Pro Skater game.

It controlled the same, its maps had the same collectibles, and some of the same old faces are still present on the roster - albeit noticeably older.

Two months later - and less than eight weeks from the game's 29th September launch - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 has been shown off at Gamescom with a new art style.

Don't think this change will be as successful as when Borderlands did it.

Well at least this shows that the team behind Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 are very willing to make changes to make the game better. That's pretty much the only good thing about this whole situation. For a cel shaded game that character model looks poorly done.

Look at those fingers!!!

I like it o_o

It barely crosses the threshold of being cel-shaded if you ask me.

Jet Grind Radio this is not.

Sadly, it still looks... bad. But still a little better.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

wow that looks interesting.....

It's going to bomb. Not as bad as Shred and Ride though.
They take the game far too serious. I'm not saying they should do it as crazy as Underground 2, but the level design just looks so boring.

I think it looks cool!

Looks terrible tbh.
