Guys. This is the Microsoft forum.

Its discussing a Microsoft exclusive game. Using a technology only Microsoft (amongst the console makers) is embracing at this point.

If you wish to discuss the merits of their decision to try to push gaming forward constructively, fine.

If you wish to troll, bait Xbox fans, or otherwise deviate from the intent of the thread, you'll be moderated. First warning, last warning.

Oh wow looks like we're going back to 2013.

why we are going back on 2013 , i am curious

Because in 2013 (or 2014?), the Xbox One was supposed to be the most powerful console of all times because of the "power ot the cloud" (and then because of the secret chip, and then the loss of Kinect, and DirectX12...).

We'll see how that turns out. In the trailer the collapsing buildings were cool, but it seemed so unnatural, more like a Lego building than a real one. Maybe this technology has limits we can't see yet. We'll see in the finished game!

Why are people talking about the graphics of a pre alpha build and comparing it to a released game (Infamous SS)? Crackdown has always had a cell shaded comic book type look. They're staying with that look. I fail to see the problem. Also people complaining about the difference between single and multi should be happy that there is a single player with so many multi only games.

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

For those that want to see this in action here is a 10 min pre-alpha demo that shows it. The weapons are stronger for this demo

They're just waiting for the inevitable glitches and disappointed players.

The obsession with the bandwidth shows it all.

Thanks for presenting representative data from these people.

Hard to get representative data when it's such a tiny minority.

Yup. On this forum I won't need all fingers on one hand to count them.

People who have no idea what the cloud is and how it works are always the most excited.

Same applies to those who doubted it and still do. Yay!

So what about the people who actually have an idea how "the cloud" works?

There are plenty of us in the middle too. E.g. I personally think cloud tech (in this context) is very interesting, but right now we have a single (unreleased) example of an X1 game using it for a visual feature, and only a very specific one. That somewhat re-enforces my belief that the 'cloud' won't be pushed that far this gen, even by MS. Maybe we'll see it used like this more in the future, but even then we need to remember what the cloud actually is, rather than treating it as some kind of mythical super-tech.

Regardless, C3 does look quite nice. It'll be fun to see how it turns out ^^

Yeah i forgot about that , but sure this technology has a limit:

1. It need Internet connection

2. It depend on Bandwidth (look at OP) they are targeting 2-4 Mbps which mean a stable one will be 4 Mbps

Well ok I stand by my "I will believe it when I see it" and that sucks for people who like the singleplayer (The focus of the series up until this point).

Why does it suck, though? You can't do right here, I guess. If you make single-player dependant on internet, people aren't happy, if you make single-player possible for offline users, people again aren't happy.

I like the idea of having a "usual" Crackdown for singleplayer and an even better multiplayer part, showing a brand new tech. But I guess anyone can make make of it what he wants.

That's kinda my point.  The tech isn't ready for prime time.  But again we will see.
