Forums - Nintendo - Will you be upset if the Gamepad does not transition to the NX?

Why would you WANT motion controls to die if they are now optional? That's just being ignorant.

Some people rely on them such as myself with games like Mario Kart. It's almost impossible for me to play that game without motion. The controller doesn't even need to be fancy to support motion controls. It can be a regular controller just with motion controls in it.

I would like to see the gamepad stay as an optional accessory.

IF the system is a home/portable "hybrid" like rumors say, then yes, I want something like the GamePad back, just sleeker, because that's the onlything that makes sense. The controller would also BE the portable part of the system. Basically just a Gamepad you can actually take out of the house.

If it's not going to be a hybrid, and just a home console, then I'd be fine going back to something more akin to a SNES controller with analog sticks. Granted, the Wiimote setup WAS ideal for FPS games. But otherwise, I wouldn't miss motion controls. I personally LIKE the GamePad, in spite of it's bulk, and think it's a cool controller. I like being able to play games Off-Screen, and the touch screen is super convenient, etc.

In other words, I'll be fine with whatever they do, GamePad concept or not. JUST so long as the new controller is super stupid looking, and the system doesn't have any dumb gimmicks (like VR). Just so long as it's not retarded expensive, and has good games (and an even better eShop), I'll be ok.

But I STILL don't want it to come out till 2017.

No, the gamepad hasn't been used to it's full potential so right now there is no reason to go nuts if the gamepad skips the NX

Hope it stays as an optional accessory: love the artwork people post on miiverse and such. Also motion controls work great for Splatoon and worked great for Resident Evil 4. Hope they stay and are utilized properly.

I like the gamepad a lot, but I could do without it, too. It all depends on the whole package.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

I'd love to see it as a nonessential option (perhaps that was redundant)...
But I certainly wouldn't be devastated if they abandon the tablet...

Have a nice day...

Eh, not really but I would like it to be at least an optional accessory. I honestly would just be happy with an updated Wii U pro controller with analog triggers and gyro/motion censors added to it.

Forget about it, one does not speak of the dark times.

I'm now filled with determination.

Get rid of everything motion controller related. The faster they ditch the Wii remotes and its peripherals, the better. I want a more traditional controller as the standard one for the NX. The Wii U lacks a proper identity because it looks and functions very similar to the Wii. The controllers are the same, the layout is similar, just... everything. It's not inherently bad but I'd prefer the NX to be separate from the Wii and Wii U completely.
