News outlets were predicting that Sony had nothing else for the year since microsoft has 2015 under seriously lock down during 4th quarter. Honestly I haven't touched my ps4 since bloodborne. At e3 they pretty much spilled the beans on everything coming next year through 2017. I hope they save some surprises for next year's e3. Perhaps a god of war 4? I'm hoping so after they released a remaster.

So wait let me get this straight, so Sony only being able to fill another 3 shows this year instead of 4 means that they fired all their shots early? Seriously you seem to have the whole situation that the competition between these two are in right now completely backwards, it is not Sony that is trying to keep up with MS here and it's not Sony that has to rush announcements to have something to talk about either.

Sony shot all shots early. But it seems it was enough for the kill...

Unless they have a Nintendo-2015-like E3 next year.. They did the right thing.

Sony has sold 25 million PS4s worldwide, it's still selling strong, and it is the console leader this gen. What was that question again? Or was that question a waste of bandwidth?

So, after the great replies, this is just about Gamescom? Lol, wow. Really stretching for that console war ammo, aren't we? I wish people would realize (maybe admit is the right word here) Sony still has a big presence at Gamescom (the largest floor space, in fact), and will get plenty of press coverage, they just aren't doing a press conference. Don't worry, they still have 3 more left this year to make up for it. Probably adding more titles to that killer 2016 line up, no doubt.

Of course, Sony has yet to fire one of its biggest shots, which will probably happen in 2016. A cut to $299. It's all ogre then.

Halo Wars 2 only big announcement for X1 at Gamescom, and it is on PC as well. Meanwhile Sony has three more conferences this year. looks like you had concern for the wrong console maker.

Gamescon = 335,000+ visitors

Paris Games Week = 272,000+ visitors

 

This year Paris Games Week could be bigger than Gamescon.


Really?! I find it disturbing how you think gaming boils down to microsoft and sony press conferences. Gamescom has a WoW expansion reveal this year. There is no chance in hell that paris games week is going to get more visitors. 

Also, gamescom isnt open to the public for a whole week. Its definitly a bigger show. I had never even heard of the PGW until Sony said they were going there. The french japanese expo is more popular than this games week.

I also want to point out something you guys forget. Sony IS at gamescom, they just dont have a press conference. So, i really dont see how PGW can explode out of nowhere as some seem to think.

This. The "greatest line up in Xbox history" is one new announcement, and it's not even exclusive. Xbox doesn't seem to have ammos left, Sony can fire at will for their 3 next conferences.

 

MS seems to focus more and more on PC gaming, Xbox will become a gaming brand only apparently.

I doubt Sony will announce new AAA games at those conferences. The new games they announced at E3 still looked years away (besides Horizon).

I think God of War IV will be at PSX, and Quantic Dream at Paris. 

But we will have to wait and see.
