They've made it a theme that each one of the two experts supports one of the teams and during the halftime break both had the task to hold an encouraging speech for their team (15 seconds long). One of them did it in English and dropped five F-bombs.

That's actually an idea I can get behind. Finally, some competition came out of the Pro Bowl!

They probably should get rid of the Pro Bowl. With this years format chance the NHL All Star game is slowly turning into a joke also. The NBA All Star game has been irrelevant for years. The only All Star game that is still somewhat relevant is the Major League Baseball one, but since I don't really like baseball I maybe only watch it for a couple of minutes at the most. Both the Chargers and Raiders will stay put for the upcoming season. Also there is a chance for the Raiders to might end up in Las Vegas. Plus there is still a good chance of Texas getting another team in the near future either in San Antonio or Austin.

I'm surprised the Pro Bowl hasn't simply been turned into Madden DLC.

Apparently Calvin Johnson is retiring, or at least seriously considering it. Can't really blame him though, playing for Detroit has to be a soul crushing experience, just ask Barry Sanders.

That's kind of amazing, when you think about it.  Detroit has had two, true franchise players, guys who count among the best to ever play their positions, and now they might both have opted to pack up and leave the game early without having ever made any real impact in the post-season.

That's a hell of a legacy for a team show to new draft picks.

Actually, now I'm sad about Barry Sanders all over again, as I still consider him to be the best running back I've ever seen in my life.

Well Calvin Johnson had a lot of injuries in the last couple of seasons.  Also right now he is not even in the same league as Barry Sanders.  Barry Sanders was a first ballot Hall of Famer.  If Johnson doesn't play another game his numbers probably are not good enough to get him into the Hall of Fame.

Nonsense. The NFL had to invent a rule just to screw the guy over. Now that's talent!

Right now there are about two dozen other players that have better numbers then he does that aren't in the Hall of Fame yet.  If he makes it then Larry Centers definely needs to make it in before he does.  There will never be another fullback or runnig back that will come close to getting 827 career receptions.

Counterpoint: not only is there no such thing as the Larry Centers rule, and not only did Centers not waste his career having the ball "thrown" to him by one Matthew Stafford, but if you're advocating a running back get in based on his passing numbers you may be doing it wrong.

I understand why he would retire--I've had him on my fantasy teams the past two years and he was Questionable almost every single week and seldom practiced.  However, if he doesn't make the Hall of Fame, it would only be because a lot of receivers have long careers with gaudy career totals.  In terms of actual talent and yearly production, he'll be remembered as one of the best wide-outs to ever play, Hall of Fame or not.
