I don't think it's going to do that well, honestly. So first off, it's launching the same day as fallout 4, which is an incredibly highly anticipated game. Then a week later, we also have battlefront coming out, which is going to further make people question if they really want this game. I don't know how many people feel the same as I do about this game's quality, but I'm slightly nervous. It's not based on what they've shown, it's based on what they haven't shown, which is gameplay that people care about. The e3 demo was lara climbing a mountain for 5 minutes, which wasn't very interesting. Sure it looked pretty, but uncharted 4 looked prettier and had a way more appealing demo. When I played the first tomb raider in the reboot, it was good, but felt a little like the poor man's uncharted. Now that they aren't showing any quality gameplay, I'm a little nervous that it's going to be that to a whole new level. So yeah, given that it's releasing right next to the release of two megablockbusters alone is enough to doubt its sale potential, and then sprinkle in consumer concern, and there's even more cause for concern for this game's sales. I'm predicting 750-1250K. So not bad by any means, but I'm not expecting this to sell do amazingly.

They'd actually probably sell more by doing day and date with the spring PC version. This holiday is going to be a murderbath, and a lesser property like TR is going to get absolutely buttflucked in the big picture.

Lifetime to date sales for TR2013 are only at 1.86M on 360 and that's a platform with well over 80M in install base, I think this game will be lucky to break past the 250K mark before the end of the year on it's own sales (as in software selling independent of bundles).
If it's heavily bundled maybe it can break a million by the end of the year, though I'm more likely to believe it will sell closer to 750K with bundles.

The major mulitplats will be moving on PS4, including Fallout 4, Battlefront, etc and people know that they can get RTR a year later on that system, probably for a lot less than it will be at launch, with full DLC and improvements.
Alternatively the existing 360 owners can buy it there or PC gamers can wait a few months and buy it in the spring.
Fall is going to be tough, TR2013 released in March first time out, so it didn't have this level of competition that a November release will bring.

End of the year, globally

Global: 3.2 Million

By the time PC version is out: 4.2 million

By time PS4 version is out: 6 million

Titanfall had 7 million users after 9 months, so probably 5-6M sells, 89% were on Xbox One. Similar split, higher numbers.

Looks like I found the prediction I'll use to insinuate that Xbox fans had extremely unrealistic expectations for this game once it's actually out.

It's a titanfall-esque trajectory.

I think around the 750k-1.2m mark.

Lol.

a) Tomb Raider doesn't have remotely the same kind of interest as Titanfall

b) 7 million players does not mean 7 million sales, that was even clarified by the dev: http://www.polygon.com/2014/11/19/7251471/titanfall-deluxe-edition-7-million-players

c) and that 89% Xbox One split is literally the first time I've ever heard something like that, which leads me to believe you completely made it up.

7m is a massive stretch (not possible imho) considering the previous game sold only about 2.1m? on XBO and 360 after a year. I think 30% increase on that (in a year) is an acceptable range guess.

I think you are looking a less than 2m for XBO in a year.
