yea it should be the PS4's peak year in Japan, the PS3's peak year was 2009 (1.9 million sold) when FF13 came out and 2016 will be ps4's 3rd year (though it had delayed launch in japan this time) so we have a lot in common. I'm not expecting huge things though, at least not compared to previous gens. It will be interesting to see the true test of how home consoles are doing, because this is about as good of a test as you're gonna get.

I'm so happy with this scenario. PS4 (and even Wii U) sales are decent in Japan atm, with the upcoming releases like MGS, Star Ocean, Persona, etc. it will reach good~great levels, and with DQ and FFXV being exclusive (console-wise) I see it reaching excellent/amazing levels. That's good for the home console industry in Japan. I bet it will help NX too (if it's a console).

Can we get a pic of DQ XI in the OP plz?

And yes, I'll play both because both seem very interesting and beautiful. PS4 sales will also explode when these games are released.Although the 3DS version of DQXI does pose a threat to PS4 sales. I mean who doesn't want a 16bit version as well as a 3D version in the same game!? Can't wait for 2016!!!

Good luck with competing with KH, FFXV, Neir, WoFF, Last Guardian, Star Ocean, Level 5 new rpg game, proper and superior DQXI, DQX, DQH2, DQ Builders, Dragon Dogma Online, Deep Down, SFV, Persona, MGSV  and all of the coutless niche title that I don't feel like listing. Not to mention we have no clue what PM will do for the market in Japan. Your list looks extremely boring compared to the list I just provided.

you can call it boring but DQ 11, youkai watch, pokemon, MHX will outsell any game that will ever released on PS4.  MH stories and animal crossing will outsell everything on that list besides maybe FF15 and DQ11 on ps4.

...None of the games Samus listed are niche. Like, at all. Not in Japan. Hell, not even worldwide at this point.

And he didn't even mention several games like DQ Monsters Joker 3, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, 7th Dragon III, Yokai Sangokushi, Super Robot Wars BX, Project X Zone 2 and Disney Magical Castle 2.

Niche games would be all the anime titles or Corpse Party.

youkai watch 3 , Dragon Quest XI 3ds , monster hunter X and Pokemon Z?  these 4 are the only games capable to push over 3-4million software and w ill be release later on 3ds

As much as I've enjoyed what we've seen of FFXV, I've come to prefer DQ's atmosphere over FF's so I'm looking forward to both games (But DQXI moreso).
