So Bod, I followed your recommendation and bought 6 crap games so I can return them when the ones I actually want come in.

Any idea on when game supplies will be replenished? Should I wait 2-3 weeks?

We get shipments of games every single day but Sunday, about mid day (noon to 2ish). It could arrive on any day of the week, basically.

Today was crazy, as expected.

For those who don't know what Black Friday is like, it's really completely different than every other shopping day in existance. We make about 3x as much money today as we will any other day in the year, and well over 10x as much as we do in the average summer days.

That said, the sales are completely hit-and-miss with video games. The PS3, for example, didn't have any special black friday deals for us. It did for Wal-Mart, however. We did have a deal on the PS2, while Wal-Mart didn't. Every store has their particular deals.

So this means I sold like 50 PS2s this morning, then was sold out, Wii style, in about an hour. I sold 1 PS3 and 2 360s because I didn't have any Black Friday deals on them. I sold all zero Wiis in zero minutes, but will have some this sunday.

If you checked with Wal Mart, I bet they sold out of PS3's in a hurry; if you checked Best Buy (who had a 360 deal) I bet their 360s evaporated. Our sale was on the PS2, and they went immediately. So the fact that I sold only 1 PS3/2 360s is totally expected.

We had 200 dollar zunes for 70 bucks this morning! After sitting on the shelf for months and months, we were out of every single one in about 10 minutes.

It does make me wonder how accurate sales results are going to be this month. With all the crazy sales, sampling from certain sources may be way off from the national average.

this is off the topic but in my opinion BlackFriday is officially dead. the past 3 years this special day sales is nothing but hype, sale prices is the same as sale prices from the rest of the year.

I missed all the crazy insane deal of the past black fridays, now its nothing more but a gimmick hyped out day. I have not see any killer deals the pass 3 years, and even clothing outlet turn out to be disappointing. I had friends went to two differnt outlet and all report back to me its disappointing, lucky I wasnt stupid enough to go there last night.

So... why do retailers do Black Friday again? Mass sale/clearance time? Doesn't sound like good business practice? Or is it the annual "lets get reamed by consumers" day (the day they fight back)?

On CNBC they said people who come in on black Friday are more than 40% likely to return to that same store sometime during the holiday shopping season.

$70 Zunes?? I actually forgot to check the Toys R Us Black Friday ads...but the nearest TRU is a bit too far to go anyway.

I sat in line from 9 pm - 5 am in below freezing temperatures, all to save about $100 on a monitor. Worth it? Yeah...this thing rocks. And the company of friends, hot chocolate, warm food, and a DS certainly helps. It's not too cold when you're wrapped in 3 layers of clothes, a sleeping bag and a couple blankets hehe.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

 This is right.

There are maybe 6 or 7 deals per store that are really, really killer, like 200 dollar Zunes for 70 dollars. They lose money on those types of deals, for sure.

And then the rest of the "Deals" arent really any better than normal sales and they make a killing on. They draw you in with the Zune/Monitor/Whatever, then hope you stay and spend 400 dollars more, or come back later during the shopping season.
