No, that was Sony over Killzone and they ended up settling (iirc) because they know they messed up.

Sony was the one that started the resolution hyping in the console industry.  This is why the console race are considered peasants. Because they fight over something so silly.

There was no settlement.

"Judge Edward M. Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, with the agreement of both parties, dismissed the lawsuit "with prejudice" — a legal phrase that means the plaintiff cannot file another legal action on this issue in the future. Terms of the dismissal were filed under seal, and both sides will have to pay their own legal costs."

This is why Microsoft is going to exploit this, they have past presedence on their side.

Um.... idk of there was a settlement or not but the text you copied and pasted reads exactly like there was a settlement reached lol.

I was just in a class action suit that settled and it was also dismissed with records sealed and I am also unable to file ant further lawsuits.

This is one of those games that should be 1080p on xb1. This isn't a demanding game.

If it's 1080p on XB1 then it should be 4k on PS4. That extra power has to go somewhere. If it's not then MS paid for parity.

No settlment. The court through out the whole case. Meaning nobody got a dime, but both parties still had to pay their lawyer fees. Sony didn't even have to cover their lawyer fees.

Well that's kind of taken the hype away..

Well they said in a video they reached 1360x1080p and they will try to increase it near the launch.

But it is true they reached 1080p (1360x1080p is 1080p too... just not FULLHD 1080p) with PES 2016.

I guess MS is pushing this 1080p dynamic or below 1920... 1360x1080 is close to 1600x900p.

The correct term is more closer to anamorpic aspect ratio. It's still HD. But in 4:3 aspect. Then unsquished to 16:9.

I don't know that website but that's a pretty messy article. They're using something which might or might not be related to confirm a rumor. I'm not saying it won't happen but you just can simply assume Part B will occur because Part A fell into place. That's bad writing.

Hilarious that there's less pixels at 1360x1080 than there is at 1600x900

Most of the arm chair developers coments in this thread is so funny it´s sad.

I knew a particular user with no experience what so ever would be one of the first to comment here.

Of course, he was the one that has spent almost 2 years claming the "the gap will go wider" or "don´t expect games at full 1080p on the XOne... EVER".

So funny.

But any way, Konami development has been a mess in the last 3 to 4 years. The Fox engine is a failure that is costing them too much effort to fix.

Actually there is 2% more in 1360x1080. Additionally, anamorphic resolutions scale better due to only one axis being upscaled.

Though, they should at least try to get to 1440 for horizontal axis.
