The title is so misleading.

Get into your Delorean and use your flux capacitor to go back in time to just before the OP posted this and fix it before it ever becomes misleading.

OT: If there will be a benefit from DX12, it won't be much this year.  Maybe by the end of 2016, developers will have enough time to take real advantage of it.  Even with that, MS has made it clear that DX12 IS NOT a game changer for the XB1.

It is near the end of the end....

They hit 1080p and it will continue to improve, easily doing it in the next few years. So the point is the tech is improving and all the people going around this site pounding on xbox one are yet again in here down playing this as well.

It seems like Microsoft is on a 1080p agenda. A lot of games are claiming 1080p on Xbox One that aren't the full 1080p people expect.

Every generation has had game resolutions lower as time goes on. Don't count on this one to be different, unless you believe in the cloud....

As long as it is 60fps, they can even bring it down to 720p.
People mostly play with TV Broadcast zoom cameras anyway.

Weren't Microsoft sued for misleading people into believing that one of their games was totally 1080p?

No, that was Sony over Killzone and they ended up settling (iirc) because they know they messed up.

Sony was the one that started the resolution hyping in the console industry.  This is why the console race are considered peasants. Because they fight over something so silly.

I believe you are thinking of the Killzone lawsuit. Unfortunately that lawsuit was dismissed by the courts, which is why we are seeing Microsoft going this route.

There was no settlement.

"Judge Edward M. Chen of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, with the agreement of both parties, dismissed the lawsuit "with prejudice" — a legal phrase that means the plaintiff cannot file another legal action on this issue in the future. Terms of the dismissal were filed under seal, and both sides will have to pay their own legal costs."

This is why Microsoft is going to exploit this, they have past presedence on their side.

Unfortunately i have a gen 1 Delorean and they still don't sell plutonium in super markets. SOL i guess.

So if I'm getting this straight
There are 1800 Ps. Sony had 1080 of them. But MS took a chunk and now the tables are turned, MS has 1080 which leaves PS4 with 720. That's pretty poor Sony
