Forums - Gaming - Anime Girl on ESPN (Guilty Gear Xrd)

Saw this on twitter. Thought it was funny lol It's about the guy that thought he won and celebrated too early and lost the match. The game was Guilty Gear Xrd. It's still weird seeing eSports on ESPN.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

Poor ESPN. I just hope Sky Sports never gets ruined by e 'sports'.

I watched the 'GameTheory' video from the other day all about the idea of eSports. Now while i don't agree that they are, they make some good points, ESPN and Sky do have a big problem of sorts when they show eSports and that is Poker. They both show Poker on Sports channels (or Sky did, not checked recently) and if anything is less than a sport than gaming it's poker. Which is gambling.

It's a weird thing. Leave eSports to the internet like the rest of the entire of the gaming community and industry (other than Korea), there are not TV shows about games so why cover the big money sponsored events as well?

Hmm, pie.

Embarrassing as fuck. I would have hopped into my mouth and ate myself.

Well I don't think it's something that should necessarily be internet only, but if it is getting any TV coverage it should really be its own esports only channel. I mean esports and real sports are targeting different demographics so it doesn't really make sense to lump them in together.

Yeah while there is some overlap it is definitely a very small amount of people and not something the typical ESPN crowd want to see... maybe if we showed Madden 16 on ESPN

While its cool to see eSports on TV every now and then I just dont see the point. I mean both YT and Twitch are much more convinient then TV for me as the consumer.

Like Poker? :P

I know what you mean, I would live a TV station dedicated to games, they don't only have to be eSports, though it could cover many things. There are some great YouTube people wh produce great quality videos that could allow their shows to be on it for content (Ahoy's videos are very high production). It could do game news and features too, it can show live coverage of conferences. Alas, unlikely however.

Hmm, pie.

The point is to see people stuck in the last century cry.
