[...] I only care about the possible future this might start where all publishers have subscription services like this and lock actual game content behind it to get more people to subscribe, which I personally find to be a horrible scenario (and look at the other shit publishers have been doing in the last years to get money from people before you say that this wouldn't happen).

Hello PSNow. Now I see why Sony didn't "see" enough value - they want to sell their own subscription in a few years :)

The point of PSNow and EA Access really is fundamentally different, so I don't see why people keep comparing the two. But yes, when PSNow starts offering new game releases then that service could also offer special game content to reel people in.

What I am finding with EA Access and the "Well done for letting Sony decide what we want" seems to be mainly from Other platform users who are using it as a tentpole "Sony is evil" narrative...

Sony decided because it is their right to decide. If you want it, get it on PC or buy and Xbox One and pay for it.... because I am sure there are so many people angry with Sony right now, it's bound to affect their sales.... oh... perhaps not.

They keep trying to push that narrative, but sooner or later they'll realise no one cares.

If we actually get back on topic a bit, I agree i do find it very strange that Sony have Marketing rights to the game but EA access will circumvent the whole deal, which cannot be right...

You know you can do a reverse on that 1st paragraph or should have. If you're finding that with the narrative you had to have seen the reverse of it.

It's not hard to see that PSNow and EA Access are both the same thing. They're subscription-based gaming service that offer a wide range of games for a fee.

The only apparent differences are the origin of the games (publishers), service delivery methods (stream vs download) and pricing (PSNow $19.99/month vs EA Access $4.99/month or $2.50/month with 12 month sub).

I havent used the term massive crowd, so please dont make crap up. I think I've made it quite clear, those that are moaning about Sony making a choice for their users...

I didn't say i am for this. I personally hope EA Access will never succeed, because then we have that situation you explain here. The sad thing,is that most people don't seem to get that.

Yes, god forbid Activision, Ubisoft or Bethesda decided to follow suit and offered 12+ games, 10% off along with early access for $2.50 a month!  That would be horrible!  I would have to spend upwards of $10 a month for 50+ games!

PSNow, on the other hand, allows me to stream 8 year old games, with terrible input lags, straight to my PS4 or other approved device for just $20 a month!  Lets all support Sony on this so the future of gaming doesn't involve hardware in the house, rather a monthly subscription to play all our games!

You people are hilarious (and extremely hypocritical).  You would defend Sony no matter what they decided for us.  I would love to have the OPTION to sign up for EA Access.  But when I think about it I guess you're right, it's good that Sony made the choice for me and I'll support that so they give me less options in the future as well.

No,i am not defending Sony at all. What i fear is that this will be a growing trend with every company, and don't you belive for a second that the price will still be low if that's the only option you got in the future, and the business modell where you could buy a single copy of a game either on disc or digital is long gone.  PS Now is fundamentally different, because you don't even need to own a console to use the service,so you can't compare it. And just for the record,i don't like the idea of streaming games like with PS Now at all!

I always said that EA Access is a good service, if it were available on PS4 I would have subscribed for sure.
With Star Wars, not only do you get to play a week earlier, but you can also save 10% on a full digital download.

I just wanted to say that it isn't a matter of how many say so and how much sales are influenced by it, doesn't change anything whether they are right by saying shouldn't judge the value for customers or not.
