NPD doesn't count bundles in their numbers, right?  If that is the case, batman pushed PS4 console sales quite nicely outside of the bundles.

Wait, really?! :O I never knew that. So the actual amount of PS4's sold in June when you include Batman bundles would be much higher than the 366k figure NPD gave?

NPD doesn't track game sales that are part of official bundles, but it does track the console sale in official bundles. It also tracks game sales in retailer an other unofficial bundles (like buy a console and get a game of your choice for free).

But thats what I am saying, last gen it ended up being 12m+ difference, at the moment the PS4 is 770k infront... which is massive for the PS4... If it continues like this (which at the moment there is no reason to suggest otherwise), the XBO will be 12m+ down on what the 360 was, while the PS4 will be up 12m. Taking into account the rest of the world where the gap is 3, 4, even more :1 then thats why it's a big difference).

Sorry if it's not clear, but i think you get the point that even if MS close that 770k gap or even go slightly ahead, the PS4 if it followed last gens path would be 12m to the better, but as the point i was trying to make the rest of the world isnt following last gen, it's heavily in favour of PS4... so it should turn out into a massive worldwide difference.

I really think MS might move to the next gen sooner rather than later... 5 years max, they'll want to move on from this disaster imho.

You say that but I can't ever see MS allowing XB1 to be outsold in the US over 30 months in a row. The gap will not be the same as 360 PS3 because MS goes all out for its holidays.

Gah but thats my point.... LOL.

It doesnt matter that the PS4 doesnt beat the XB1 over 30 months in a row or not, it means already if we were just doing a comparison to last gen at it's end taking into account USA being equal WW it would be : PS4 80m and XBO 68m... that's *Before* we take into account the slaughter that is rest of the world.

In other words, Sony is probably fine and dandy at USA being equal, because everywhere else is in PS4 favour. MS dropped the ball by making the USA it's primary market, NFL/TV.... they messed up and the sales will end up showing that. We could probably do the same comparison to the UK, where again the PS4 is beating the XBO but last gen lost out to it by a few million wasnt it?

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

Yep and Microsoft will get another one when Gears, Halo Tomb Raider are available during fourth quarter (especially black friday). This is a really good year to own an Xbox One. Can't wait for Gamescom.

It was the Cuphead demo.

It's no surprise that Xbox One will beat PS4 in the US lifetime. Especially with Halo 5 coming out (that thing is a monster system seller)

I'm glad they won E3 week. MS deserved a little victory even if they lost the month. MS showed they have the best exclusives this holiday along with some great deals during E3 and a new bundle. Not taking anything away from Sony, those batman bundles sold amazingly well.

I like that you specified that it was only during the holiday.  I hate when people act like the rest of the year doesn't exist when tallying exclusives.  What people don't seem to get is that the stuff that released during the year is cheaper during the holidays so it is still a sales driver plus all the sales throughout the year from the exclusives releasing.

2014 was a great year to own a Wii U, 2015 for X1, and 2016 for the PS4. Nice to see each console have a good year with really good games.

If Scalebound and QB have good showings then MS will have a very good 2016 as well
