One day is over. However Nintendo hasn't reactivated their Social Media activities. At least not the german twitter channel. I would wait until Nintendo starts their Social Media activities again.

The issue that many people, (me included) had, was that the threads were coming out minutes or hours after the news broke, and that elements of the OPs were in themselves, insensitive.
Generally when someone dies, flags are flown at half mast out of respect for at least one day. Nintendo themselves showed their respect on the internet by not posting anything on their social media channels for at least 24 hours.
The least any decent person would do online in my opinion, would be to show some respect for a similar period.
And you'll notice that already a couple of new threads went up today, and people are more ok with it.
(Edit to add ) - See the advice in the post above mine. I would go with that.
IMO It's because they respect Iwata by making a thread about Nintendo future based on Iwata's legacy.
A handheld gamer only (for now).

One of the two threads in question asked whether things would be better now he'd gone, and the other insinuated that Nintendo would be back with full force now he'd gone. Those OPs had nothing to do with respecting Iwata or his legacy and came immediately after the news broke. And that was what many people found issue with.
No one's saying there's a line in the sand to say when it's appropriate or not.
But don't make replacement threads minutes after his death is announced. I thought that was common sense.
There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'
If you have to ask like that in that tone, it's definitely too early for you.
I think one of the most imortant parts that people who make these threads completely ignore is that Iwata's condition wasn't a secret to the others in power. They must have talked about this before, and matters are most likely settled already. Just give it time.

Making a thread about how better off the company will be thanks to Iwata's death just 30 minutes after the announcement is insensitive. Now is a good time but just 30 minutes after the announcement of Iwata's death just isn't.
Once we know who the new CEO is and when they have made a statement regarding the matter.
