Forums - Nintendo - What is your fondest memory of Iwata and his work at Nintendo?

The direct where he said "please understand."

Still one of the greatest quotes ever.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

The Nintendo Directs and Iwata Asks

But if I have to be specific, I really enjoyed the E3 Digital Event 2014 with Iwata vs Reggie

I will never forget him and Reggie fist-fighting at E3 2014. Definitely one of the most iconic moments in Nintendo's history, I feel.

I loved the Iwata Asks. Such a fantastic way to give insight on their games.

Was about to mention this, it is a joy to read the majority of the interviews.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

I didn't know he was the guy who compressed Kanto into Pokémon Gold/Silver. I thought it was mindblowing to play two regions in just one game. That's the reason why Pokémon Gold/Silver is my most played game of all time... and I had no idea of that until just now.

Thank you, Iwata.

I loved the way he wanted to embrace the fans and really let us behind the scenes through Nintendo Directs and Iwata Asks. They were brilliant and always a joy to check out.

His presence during the Nintendo Directs will never be forgotten.

He seemed like a passionate and caring person. It is weird how much hearing about someone's passing effects us when we did not personally know them. Working under him would have been amazing.

Iwata helped revolutionize the gaming industry.

RIP

I didn't realize he was a developer, and that I played games that he worked on. Pokemon Silver ftw.
