Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has passed away

Shit I thought his health had been improving...

I'm shocked and sad to read this. Mr Iwata seemed like such a friendly and passionate man. He was Nintendo's CEO but you felt he had real heart for not just the company, but for their games as well. He kept working despite everything, and wasn't afraid to go against the grain. Admirable qualities.

He was just so likeable, regardless of whether you thought he was a good executive (I thought he was btw). I think I'm not the only one who felt some sort of bond with the man, after watching him bring news 'directly' to us all those times.

RIP

This came as a big shock when I woke up. Truly terrible and sad news. Iwata was such a fun guy and loved Nintendo and his fans. This will stay in my head for a few days.

Horrible news. RIP

Rest in peace Iwata! You'll be remembered as the face of Nintendo, and the embodiment of the Nintendo difference. May your vision live on within Nintendo!

Around the Network

Today at work we were given the day off to play Nintendo games while various interviews of iwata over the years played on the main screen, was a nice way to let us pay our respects.

As a way to pay my own respects on these forums, anyone even remotely trolling or making snide comments, ANYWHERE on this forum regarding Iwata, even "jokingly", will earn themselves a 7 day ban, regardless of how much trouble I get in to for doing so.

Wow this was sudden.

RIP Iwata

Ugh first thing I read when I woke up at first :(. Shocked and sad, R.I.P Mr. Iwata, you'll be remembered fondly by millions.

I feel very bad about this... After all the negative criticism Nintendo and Iwata had recieved just a month ago and even when Iwata was trying to fix al
the mistakes from Nintendo he suddenly passes away..

Rest in Peace, Iwata. Thank you for everything!!
