I don't understand what your point is. If its okay for FF7, then the reason the trend is okay with one game is the reason its okay with everything else, obviously.   At least, that is how it is to others.  But somehow you don't understand. 

It's understandable with FFVII to have a noticable reaction, hell even I couldn't help but have a huge grin on my face during that reveal and I'm normally someone that prefers enjoying things on the inside, if that makes sense. Not every trailer warrants something like that though and that's why you either have videos of people watching trailers with a normal reaction, which is mostly silent, or with a completely fake overreaction, both of which I find pointless to watch.

See reaction is what made Lets Play famous, why wouldn't it carry forward. Reaction to things (including Lets Play) is the biggest thing on youtube. The only problem I have is, is when i am unable to find the original video people are reacting to, because reacting to takes up majority of the hits.

I think for any "reaction" type video to be worthwhile and worth watching the subject has to have an extremely strong emotional connection to whatever they're seeing for the first time or the video needs to be insanely shocking - like the 2 girls 1 cup example.

Those Twilight ones were legit because those fans have an intense emotional connection with the movie. There are also some really good Star Wars Force Awakens reactions. These are legit and very entertaining to watch: https://youtu.be/3JcmEnmmkCA
