Just wait.  This TGS is going to be amazing. Now that Sony is the dominant force again, expect more Eastern content then the previous generation.

Also, why do people act like this is the end of the brand? Wasn't Sony skipping the largest gaming expo in the world? Also, didn't Squeenix mention that they were going all out in that expo of all places?

I guess MS figured that their place in Japan isn't worth fighting for. Although Japan will still get exclusive games coming to them.

Just look at the support. PS3s poor performance is when many Eastern developers basically went under. Times changed, just look at Squares deal, the rumorred Sega deal, and more. Sony is trying it's best to regain the Eastern market, meanwhile Microsoft pulls out of TGS. This is dissapointing for Xbox fans.

Xbox 360 had some amazing eastern support and some good exclusives...

The way things are shaping up we aren't getting another Blue Dragon, and that is dissapointing.

Sorry, the way you made it sound was as if only Sony can deliver on good games. Thing is, I believe any company can. It's a fair game, but Microsoft has never used something Sony has...

Brand. Final Fantasy and Tales have always had PS exclusives. Microsoft had good games and they had big name devs behind them, but Lost Odyssey isn't Final Fantasy and Infinite Undiscovery isn't Tales of Xillia. Microsoft could sell lots of games there if they announced an exclusive FF and Tales title for the XONE and refused to have it sold on a Japanese console and made this well known.

Japanese people wouldn't stop playing Final Fantasy or Tales just because it moved to a foreign console. They just need the huge brand names behind them.

TGS was pretty good last year. For Sony.

People care about TGS if they care about games

Yeah, I would see MS coming to the conclusion that the 100K or so they spend on TGS is better spent elsewhere. They'd do better by paying Namco 100K to bring Tales of Vesperia remaster exclusively to Xb one, which would probably get Xb one an extra 1K console sales. Anything they do at TGS would probably not get them an extra 100 console sales, over and above simply announcing via media release things that would be of interest to Japanese gamers.
