I'd need to know more about before formulating an opinion.  I will say just based on what is stated here the odds are near zero of happening.  Just touching FICA is met with overwhelming resistance, much less eliminating it. I do agree it needs to be reformed in some capacity. Raise the age, reduce who is eligible, etc. Also, I am in favor of reducing complexity of taxes, but every attempt to do so has just added complexity so not sure a president can do an over haul to the system. However, I do think the more money you make the greater percentage you should be taxed. Not 1950s levels, but the rate of social divide in wealth growth over past 30 years is not encouraging. Some middle ground of rates is preferable.

The issue is what the goal of taxing is within an economic model.  Simply put we do not have the tax income to match our spending so I'd ask the Senator if a balanced budget or reducing deficits is part of this plan?  What are his projections for growth under such a tax plan? Would it adjust if economic realities shift globally?  How much should spending be reduced? Where do we reduce it? What impact does that have?

Not an easy question and frankly I don't have all the answers.  My guess is we'll have to endure another depression before addressing these problems.

So let me get this straight:

He's already had two huge damage control pushes. This is not the type of guy you want as a leader, he's going to slip and say so many wrong things that's going to cause issues with the US vs the world.

If he or Trump is the republican representative....  I don't even want to think about it.

Jeb is for immigration reform.  That is a no no for the republican party.  He might be able to raise money but he isn't going to win shit.

What the hell is this? More Bush people? Almost looks like a monarchy.

As much as it irks me on how weak Obama's foreign policy is, seeing another Bush in the oval office may be just as bad because that freaking family seems to always go to war.

Maybe instead of increasing productivity he can do something to cut back on spending. The American government is the most wasteful entity in human existence and politicians are talking about squeezing more out of the little man, what a joke.

the money isnt wasted, its killing people all around the world.

no he's for letting illegals in this country with practically no consequences.

republicans are all about immigration reform, like actually enforcing our laws, stopping illegals constantantly crossing our border and breaking laws.

the main reason why so many flee to the us is the war the us is waging against the population in latin america.

stop the war on drugs and less people will come to the us.

But reading the article might make it less appealing to left voters. 

That being said, people who vote on party lines and not on policies should be barred from voting.
