Rumors about a possible Zombi U port coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have been circulating recently, and a new report suggests they could very well be true.

Reportedly called "Zombi" instead of the Wii U version's title ZombiU, Twitter user lifelower claims the zombie survival horror game was rated by the Taiwanese Game Software Ratings board for both Sony's and Microsoft's current-gen consoles.

A Ubisoft game of the same name was also recently rated for Xbox One in Australia, and Unseen64 has previously reported on the game being in development for current-gen consoles.

Zombi U was originally a launch exclusive for Nintendo's WiiU console. It unfortunately did not turn a profit, which eventually led to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot declaring the publisher had no plans to produce a sequel. We have reached out to Ubisoft for comment.

If it's actually what was meant to be Zombi U 2, I'll laugh hysterically.

So long as it isn't actually announced we don't even know what it is. Odds are it'll more likely be what remains of the sequel they were planning rather than a simple remake, because the style of the game just wouldn't translate over well at all.

It is Ubisoft so who knows but there's more to this I feel.

I still don't get the point of porting Zombi U to another console, when the only good thing Zombi U did is his use of the gamepad.

I just hope it's not motion controlled combat. That's one thing that looked awful and annoying about the game on Wii U.

How much did they spend on the WiiU version? With digital it has easily sold over a million copies (to be fair at a reduced rate). Also it really feels like the game is going to lose a lot without the gamepad.

I don't believe I ever used motion controls for combat in ZombiU.

Honestly yes. However it uses the gamepad a lot, so I'm really not sure how the gameplay will translate to the other systems. Vita as a second screen maybe?
