Be patient, there are still 2 PS4 announcements coming, one could be DQ X, and the other surely DQ XI

2 PS4 announcements? What do you mean? Where did you hear that?

Among these 5 scoops, there are 2 announcements left, Verendus words

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

So I see the argument of where DQXI goes continues :/ Though thankfully the list of what has released on Nintendo systems when it come to FF have been posted, so that should help me carry a point, that may result to be quite interesting.

Square Enix has usually used Nintendo platforms for Final Fantasy spin-offs, meanwhile they release main Final Fantasy games on PS consoles, now lets look at Dragon Quest. Dragon Quest has seen all of its main entries on NIntendo, well except VII and VIII, though by August both should have returned to Nintendo hardware with the release of the DQVIII remake, meanwhile Sony in recent times have only gotten spin-offs, quite a similar situation of what occurs with Final Fantasy, only the opposite, Nintendo gets main entries with some random spin-off, while Sony only gets spin-offs.

If that is the case, then we can expect for Dragon Quest XI to release on Wii U, if we follow what has occured in the past. Though even if that weren't the case and we only looked at the what seems to be the usual reason for where a main DQ game goes, the answer is still Wii U, since at the moment, it is the leading home console in Japan, and with how things are looking, PS4 may not go ahead of it till somewhere in mid or late 2016. So no matter how you look at it, the only logical conclusion it fits all the past criteria, with it being the best selling home console in Japan. Also, if my memory servers correct, in a interview Horii said that they were keeping the controls of the game in mind, if they were releasing on PS4, there would be no reason for that, since they know with what htey are working, how it functions, and that everyone is accostumbrated to it, but when you bring in a special controller like the Gamepad into play, it makes sense to them to keep in mind, because of all the things they could do with it in DQXI. So at the moment the only logical conclusion with all the present evidence is that Wii U will be the console in which DQXI releases.

When it comes to this game... it is sad to see Dragon Quest mixed with a thing like Minecraft.

COMG guide to points: 1 point = Raging. 2 points = Beasting. 3 points = Tearing it up. 4 points = Berzerk. 7 points = Rampage. 12 points = Burst. 15 points = god mode. 20+ points = DIVIDING BY ZERO!!! 40+ points = Youkai (originally Pokemon).

-1 = Negabeasting. -5= NegaRampage. -10 = NegaBurst

Pretty sure they are priming the PS4 audience for DQXI with DQ Heroes and DQ Mincraft.

The N64 or GameCube did not get any Dragon Quest spin-offs, you only get DQ spin-offs if you're getting the real deal. And Horii has already said DQXI is for a console, so 3DS is out.

I think Square-Enix has chosen to throw all their support behind the PS4 in a last ditch attempt to try and rescue the Japanese console industry. They see it as their best bet.

Lol there are still some believers for a Wii U version ?

It's done , you need to accept it, the game will be on PS4, that's it, Square Enix wants to do anything to help PS4 in Japan and they want to expand DQ to the west, it's impossible to do that on Wii U since it's a commercial failure here so PS4 is the only choice, it will be on PS4, very unlikely on Wii U, on PS3 too maybe, dont hope it on nintendo consoles, you'll be disappointed

No, no ,no. There are 3 scoops left. Verendus was talking about 2 of the 5 DQ games that he's heard about coming to PS still being left to be unveiled, the 3 unveiled ones are DQH 1&2 and now this one, I don't think he meant to say that both of those games will be unveiled in these next 3 weeks (though it could happen).

Not always mah boy, PS3 began to get spin-offs, but there is no way that a main game will release on it, and in their time the Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance received spin-offs, but never received a main game, so receivin spin-off means nothing.   Why do you think I didn't mentioned in the post I originally made?  Because I know that, so at the moment if we are to go by the analogy of "Dragon Quest goes to the best-selling console in Japan"  the only conclusion you can reach is that it will come out on Wii U.

Or atleast some developers have, we do not know if Horii shares that same mindset, though if he did, he would had assured a PS4 version of DQX.

Square's only released as far as I can tell two Final Fantasy games for Nintendo home consoles in the past 20 years or so ... GameCube got Crystal Chronicles and Wii got Crystal Bearers. Not exactly a big deal.

If Wii U was getting DQXI it should be getting DQ Heroes and DQ Builders, that's just how the Enix side works, if you're getting DQ spin-offs it's because you're getting the main one later on.

I don't believe any of those "patterns" you try to rationalize here are relevent to what will happen now.

Square-Enix has expressed their will to support the PS4 more, to try to energize the console market in Japan. And besides that, Dragon Quest games have usually released on the console with the most userbase. PS2, 3DS, Wii... So if anything, you should consider that pattern before putting money on the convoluted one you brought up.

By what Ali_16x said the more is more at 4+ by what he listed, still small, but still something, which shows the point, small random spin-off goes to Nintendo usually, main goes for Sony,   I'm only saying the opposite occurs for Draon Quest.

Though as I also said that is not always the case, GBC, GBA, and PS3 demonstrate that, and if you want to call remakes not main ones, then the 3DS is also sign of that.

@Hynad:  We do not know if Horii believes in that and will follow suit, so without knwoing what he thinks that is irrelevant.  And that is what I said, well in a way, because the argument has always been that Dragon Quest goes to the console with the highest install base in Japan, which at the moment seeing DQXI is for a home console, the one with the highest install base in Gen 8 is Wii U, so going by the pattern that would be the console in which the game will release.

Looks interesting. I hope it is localized.
