In fact, the Finnish Air Force started using that symbol before the Nazi Party even existed.

While the flag of the Nazi Party flag (later the flag of Nazi Germany) represented nothing outside of the Nazi regime, the swastika itself did and still does. Unfortunately, because of the Nazis, very few people these days can use that symbol in any way without uneducated people raising an eyebrow. In fact, this Confederate Flag controversy is nothing new to the US. Because the Nazis like to ruin other things, during the second world war, it was decided that Americans should no longer give the Pledge of Allegiance like they used to.

Yeah I clarified in a later post that I specifically meant the red background with a white circle as used by Hitler's regime. As the saltaire used in the confederate flag is also very common without the stars.

This right here is the largest problem.  Sure slavery was a part of why the civil war happened, but to hear it in history class in school these days it is the ONLY reason we ever had a civil war.
