Melee beat MGS3 easily when the PS2 had 5-6xs the user base of the GCN. How hard is this math? Hell, at the current rate Brawl might well outsell the PS3 itself by the end of the year!

I think at the end of the year it will be :

GTA IV : 13 millions
SSBB : 12 millions
MGS4 : 3.5 millions

 Other than that last clearly exaggerated line, I agree with this.

Let me repeat: Melee beat MGS3 easily when the PS2 had 5-6x the userbase of the GCN. What would make us believe that would significantly change when the usebase advantage switched to SSB?

you do realise there is so many people who are hyped for mgs4 who havent even played a metal gear game. and i dont where you got the idea that sales decrease each game but they dont youre wrong. mgs4 will be the best selling mgs game and brawl probably will outsell it because of wii's higher userbase but all that aside mgs4 will be a better game than brawl and if gta4 doesnt get game of the year mgs4 will

SSBB will sell more than GTA IV and MGS4, because a) bigger userbase and b) I think there are more people who will buy Smash than GTA or Metal Gear as they are more hardcore type of games and Brawl may bring in the casuals, maybe some non-gamers. For the record I hate using those tags but had nothing better to use.
