| superchunk said: That makes no sense. Just because the Wii has seperated WiiWare from the VC doesn't mean the VC games do not interfere with the sales of eventual WiiWare games. Its the exact same thing as XBLA. Dumb asses. |
So what do you win if your prefered console sells more than another?

Because PS3 has a nice, large amount of storage space by default

Probably because any version of the PS3 has at least a 20GB Harddrive. Orginally the size limit on XBLA was like 52mb or something so Arcade games would always fit on the current memory cards of the time and they upped to get Castlevania: SOTN on there.
Chrono, Probably because every PS3 has a HDD. No worries on trying to fit a game on a memcard or extremely limited internal flash.

No, he was just makingfun of your posts. (I am not agreeing or disagreeing, I am just clearing that up. I don't like or dislike anyone, except for mods.)
On topic: They are comparing the distribution and royalty models. THey are saying that WiiWare looks like it will be more profitable, less restricted (for developers to do what they like), and they won't have to compete with VC or Retro Arcade directly (on XBLA the retrogames are right next to the new games and marketed very hard, VC games are not a hard sell). Again, I am not taking a position right now, I am just giving my interpratation of what they are saying.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
Seeing as how Nintendo has even cut down to 1 game a week, I cannot wait for Wii Ware.
When is Wii Ware coming Stateside again?
Probably some developer who's never made a game before.
Just look for the worst Wii Ware game on the service and you've probably got the guy who made the comment.
Sure it's better that nintendo seperates Retro and Regular better bit Nintendo's Retro catalogue is way better and more extensive and better by well... a lot. So to say it's going to hurt sales less is silly.
Granted I haven't really enjoyed most of the games i've played on XBLA but they do have some real gems, and it's not like I can't see how people wouldn't like the other games.
Besides you can just download the demos of the games first.

Meh. None of his claims sound utterly unbeliveable, but I'm unconvinced as long as I have no idea who this guy is.
I have heard that developers for the XBLA get screwed in a variety of ways, but doubt it's that bad. Nintendo giving extremely good support and generous terms to Wii Ware developers would be very smart, and I hope that's the case.
All XBLA games have free trial version so I don't know how people could get confuse retro games and not buy the games because there are so many games on XBLA.
MS advertise all the new released weekly, there is option that auto-download all new XBLA games demo that come out. I try all the new games that come out every Wednesday.
So Nintendo finally try to copy MS and Sony download game (because they can see that's where the future is) and the best they can do is call XBLA games shitty? LOL, release your stuff, put it on the market and then you can go around insulting other people.
I like the Wii, I bought it when it was released, but when it comes to on-line content XBLA is just awesome. If Wii-ware can even come close to have 1/4 of the contents that XBLA have I would be glad.
