The one thing that kind of is a concern is 3DS third party support compared to the DS is a pretty huge drop off. Capcom (Monster Hunter 5) and Level 5 (Yokai Watch) are bringing it, but a lot of the other major Japanese studios are not.

A lot of them are embracing mobile moreso ... ie: Square-Enix and Konami.

It also seems that western devlopers are not doing as many portable games either, they are content to try and milk mobile.

Well, the sheer diference of sales numbers between the two systems and the fact that the DS developement was extremely cheap (annd that cheap side is now on mobile) made the difference. Not to mention the tons of shovelware on the DS, that is now on mobile.

If the NX is easy to develope for, it will get support of smaller and medium companies, and the bigger ones will come with hardware numbers.
