The technique behind it is impressive, but it obviously looks atrocious for a Mario game.
I wouldn't really like it that much tbh but an environment upgrade would be pretty nice

I'd say they lost all sense of good art direction.
I'd be extremely confused.
It looks nice, but the settings are out of place.

I can't believe this got coverage in the gaming press.
Love the idea of realism, but it just doesn't fit Mario. Needs more whimsy.
It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

What's wrong with 3D World's graphics again?
Vs this:
I prefer 3D Worlds graphics. I wish it were more of an open world, sure. But graphics wise? Maybe if Mario fit in the world he was surrounded in, but cartoon Mario in the real world doesn't really look that good.
