I think this E3 will be enlightening as to if we'll see 'big' games coming to Wii or not. If there are coming, they should be announced at E3 this year.
I do expect solid support from Japanese 3rd parties, and they'd be idiotic not to considering Nintendo solidly owns Japan. Monster Hunter 3 is the first of many in that regard I think.
Western publishers I think will continue to focus on PS3/360/PC instead for their 'core' or 'big' games instead of Wii. Giving Wii more 'casual' stuff instead. At this point I can't blame them either. Look at this weeks Bully sales: 79k on 360, 19k on Wii. With only a installed base difference of 1m. However I expect next weeks Sega Superstars Tennis is be the exact opposite with the Wii version easily outselling 360/PS3's.
Don't get me wrong, there IS money to be made on Wii and I do expect serious 3rd party support with major games, but not necessarily what people here are hoping for.

Is E3 the big announcement platform for third parties? Considering the shadow of its former self that it now is, I wouldn't be betting as much on it as in previous years. Spin it how you want, throw the excuses up all you want, but take it from someone with a soft spot for Nintendo: It's a seriously bad sign that third parties STILL haven't thrown anything much decent behind the Wii (perhaps Capcom excluded), and I honestly doubt it's going to change. WTF is the deal? |

The cames will come, patience thats all, I bet a year from now the third party line-up will be much better than this year and perhaps strongest out of all three consoles.

How bout Call of Duty 5, Guitar Hero IV, Monster Hunter 3, Alone in the Dark, Fragile, Madden, Rock Band, Final Fantasy: CC, Ghostbusters, StarWars: The Force Unleshed, or ToS2?
Those are some pretty substantial 3rd party games, no?
If you wanted to go in depth, I could list you the entire lineup, but lets leave it.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.

Wow, from a PS3 fanboy, really? I thought the PS3 fanboy cheer was "Just wait."
Can you put Brawl on the Wii and play it? Read my last post, if you doubt.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
This arguement never gets old.
At this point I say screw 'em. The developers that get on board with the Wii are going to makes millions and million and those that don't are going to miss out.
I have gotten more games in the first 18 months that I want to play than the last two console generations.
I don't 3rd party support will ever reach PS2 level but it doesn't need too.
And quoting 1st week bully sales is not very useful. We are talking a port and we all know Wii games are about legs not front-loading.
Final* Word on Game Delays:
The game will not be any better or include more content then planned. Any commnets that say so are just PR hogwash to make you feel better for having to wait.
Delays are due to lack of proper resources, skill, or adequate planning by the developer.
Do be thankful that they have enough respect for you to delay the game and maintain its intended level of quality.
*naznatips is exempt
The Wii probably won't have the greatest 3rd party support. But does that really matter for me? No, because I bought the Wii for the Nintendo games.
