Forums - Gaming - Star Ocean 5 will not have any DLC or Expansions.

This is a very very good thing.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

If adding DLC to get some more profits would help Tri-Ace to be a little more profitable and see easier ways to keep releasing them rare JRPGs, I would gladly embrace DLCs for their games.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

And if the dlc expands the scale of the game and is reasonably priced then I don't see the problem.

When you have these big companies milking everything with DLCs you kind of get a bad taste about it, but when it comes to Japanese developers and their JRPGs I sort of want to see ways that they can make profits and keep the genre alive, to have them say: "Well, if we do this we definitely can make these JRPGs happen because we get money out of them."

It's kind of surprising that Tri-Ace has been able to launch a game without DLCs or extra costs given that they were bought by a mobile games company.

I was convinced that they would be forced to add DLCs or microtransactions to their games.

Wow, that's great news. I hope more games do this but unfortunately they won't.

Isn't this game suppose to be an MMO, or at least function like one? How long will it last without expansions?

Dunno who gave you this idea but Star Ocean is an offline JRPG.

Yup...RO friggin rocked

I mean the games are huge as is. I played Til The End of Time for 600 hours... just short of the end of time.

Never played a star ocean game, after hearing this I may give it a try.

Good. Quite honestly, im quite sick of it by now.

Expansions are fine but DLC is turning into a contest of "how much can we extort?".
