Forums - Gaming - Best console visuals year on year from 2000 (Updated)

I'd say that Sanic Unleashed is the best looking game of 2008. Even if the game itself isn't very good.

I'm now filled with determination.

F-Zero looks amazing even nowadays.

I'm happy with the changes but....2014 Drive Club post patch is without a doubt better looking and more graphically advanced than Infamous Second Son.

These lists are so hard for me. As PC versions and mods really change the outcome, and I usually opt for the PC versions.

Maybe I'm not sure what to look for but inFamous 2nd Son never looked that good to me as a whole. It had some nice parts but I was very disappointed. Some people swear by it, though.

Seriously?

Final Fantasy XIII on PS3 has an extremely solid framerate. Even running around Gran Pulse I don't notice it drop a frame below 30.

Xbox 360's framerate is pretty good too, minus issues with particular Chapters.

Extremely Solid? On Gran Pulse? Maybe to the untrained eye. Still, Gran Pulse had loads of enemy pop in, which should also be considered a mayor sin. No excuses. Any game can look great if everything appears an inch from you.

2013: IMHO The Last of Us was actually a better looking game than Ryse despite being on the older gen. Which is why it didn't look all that different (apart from the improved frame rate) when it came to PS4.

Rigged!!!

Nah kidding. I guess I must had been playing the 360 version. I thought I played it on the PS3, but it has been quite a long time and It's not exactly a game I like to remember. Still, the enemy pop-in problem is still stupidly evident. That would be a deal breaker on other games, I dont see why FFXIII should get a free pass. Like I said, any game can look great if everything appears an inch from you. As such, FFXiii should be disqualified by any serious standar.

Mass Effect 2 is a much better candidate and it has style.
