Nintendo has completely changed its unveiling to release plicy since the launch of the DS.  Also, we are not talking about 20 years ago, we're talking about Nintendo today. Yes, they are different.

Zelda U was unveiled at e3 2014. I rest my case.

That doesn't change shit. You can't say "oh no they never do that.." to "oh the've changed" after it was proven they did do it. Nice goal post move. Also for the upteenth time Zelda U was revealed in 2013. Not out yet. You can bet there will be a delay too since Nintendo always has delays. Your case is factually inaccurate and wholey dishonest. Fact is Nintendo has done worse. Reggie himself has perpetuated worse. We are talking about the practices of the game companies. 10 of those past 20 years consisted of Nintendo fans eagerly awaiting the realease of a game that they promised year after year would be released. You can't ignore that fact simply because it disproves your case.

It was a dumb comment, because virtually nobody announces games that early. It's happened how many times in history?

It really sets the bar low for bragging. Might as well say, "Well, we don't like to spend 200 million dollars on a single game like all those other companies."

When is FFXV coming out? When was it unveiled?

When is TLG coming out? Unveiled?

When is FFVII Re likely to come out? Unveiled?

Shenmue III

...

He's not bragging. He's just explaining to upset fans why Nintendo didn't show Metroid Prime.

Yea, I understand those three games. I am just wondering he would even bother making the comment if incidences like this are so isolated. Why not say 3 or 4 years? Would that make Nintendo hypocrites because of Zelda?

Just seems like a silly thing to brag about.

You mean Nintendo expects consumers to buy a console that is supposed to last them 4-5 years without having idea of the future content?

This strategy is not working for them. Each year Nintendo fans are disappointed because they believe Nintendo has what they have been waiting for close to ready and they just have not showed it yet. Each year they leave disappointed.

I have a solid idea of the big games planned on the PS4 THROUGH 2016. Yes there will be some stuff announced 6-12 months before launch (Fallout 4 as an example), but I know at a min which key titles on are the way.

Reggie should concern himself more with why his company's console cant get multiplat games like FF XV, Fallout 4, CoD, AC, Batman, and the list goes on.

Mass effect ? We are talking about full exclusives, and tomb raider is not really exclusive so that kinda skills any effect it could have

PS4 had way more exclusive games announced, thats all, and since exclusives are what make a console unique...

Thats not opinion to say this its a fact

And an other fact would be to say the unanimous opinion from journalist is that Uncharted 4 impressed much mord than any other exclusive already announced.

Sorry I meant Gears. Tomb Raider is not exclusive, I didn't know that. But then we can't count Fallout 4 for the PS4.

Uncharted 4 impressed much more than any other exclusive, but the number of exclusives were comparable on Xbox as on PS4. I count Halo and Gears. Without TLG, FFVII RE and Shenmue III, I count UC4 and Horizon for the PS4.

Whaat ? Who Said fallout 4 was a ps4 exclusive ?

Thé number of exclusives at E3, including thé livecoverage even les,( without even talking about new announcement since PS4 haf many more) are not comparable, its a fact : there were Horizon, UC4,  Dreams, Star Océan 5,  Nier and many others like i Saïd i didny even count these games on live coverage

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

No, because Zelda was unveiled at e3 2014.

Also he's not bragging, but rather explaining to upset fans why Metroid Prime was not released, while in the meantime Sony showed a few games that are probably earlier in development than Prime is right now.

If that's the case, why not say 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 years, as opposed to the ridiculous 5 to 6?  Is that how far Metroid is from release?

Reggie doesn't make those decisions though. If Nintendo has no games to show within this policy, then they have no games to show.

That's not Reggie's role though. And I don't think consumers should expect this kind of drought, I just want to show that Reggie was not wrong in saying what he said.

Nintendo has this policy because if they came out and said "We only have 1 to 2 games a year anyone will care about planned" no one would buy their console. Nintendo likes to hide this behind short releases. Its always the carrot on the stick. We have nothing new NOW, but just wait til next year and you like what you see. Go and buy our console because you wont regret it. We promise.

Nintendo, today, does not reveal games until they are at most 2 years away from release. This is a fact. I don't want to talk opinions, I want to talk facts.

As for Zelda U, until you show me a video of it before e3 2014, I don't want to talk about it.

No it is not a fact, it is a blatant lie. Of course you don't because you are wrong. OH and btw it was unveiled in at least e3 2012. Here's the tech demo from e3 2012. Here's the video of the demo. Uploaded in 2012 https://youtu.be/u_fyOkrteqM here's an article from 2012 boasting about it http://wiiudaily.com/2012/09/wii-u-zelda-game-coming-2014/. That's more than 2 years. That's a fact. Quit being dishonest, and at least try to fact check before you make such a claim. Turns out it wasn't 2014 or 2013 but at least 2012.. Go figure.

So want to correct yourself now? Correct answer is your case is factually wrong. Zelda U was revealed, unveiled, and announced in 2012..

He's clearly not referring to those.

What is he referring to then?
