Forums - Nintendo - It's time - Reggie needs to quit, Now!

What these armchair CEO's fail to see is how difficult it is to run in a highly competitive field and what Reggie is doing is SELLING Nintendo. This idea that he should be complimentary to the competition is just plain sillyness. As a matter of fact, if Reggie were to compliment Sony, for example, the headlines would scream REGGIE CONCEDES DEFEAT!! REGGIE AKNOWLEDGES SONYS SUPERIORITY!! etc. So essentially he cannot win. But plain old business dictates to attempt to MINIMIZE the competition, especially when you struggling to keep up. Also, Reggie does not make decisions regarding game development. Understand this people! I thought this was fairly common knowledge by now but Japan runs the show 100% Reggie is the American face of the company.

Not really. When ps4 was crushing the competition, an MS guy (think it was Phil Spencer) praised Sony for it and people's reaction was very positive. Some said it's just PR, some praised him and I didn't see anyone saying they're admitting defeat. It just made people have some more respect for the guy.

Just no.

I say nitpicking because he mentions quite a few things in that post and you keep holding up that one example as proof that he has no idea what he's talking about when as I said, is still something the head of NoA would have at least a hand in dealing with.

What business dealing? What has Nintendo done well on it's business side as of late?

I'm not saying that agree in saying he should resign, I'm saying the points you are so eager to dismiss are certainly valid and reflect poorly on his job performance.

Also, why do you always jump right to claims of bias? I'll back up any and everything I say.

What other point did he make to justify Reggies sacking? All I got is that he doesn't like Reggie shit talking the competion, poor marketing, blames for the lack of games, blames for the lack of north american developers and blames for the lack of third party parties. The bold are global issues affecting Nintendo in every region; this should hint that this has very little things to do with Nintendo of America and more of the parent company (it can be said there is alsoa  lack of european developers as well) .

Blaming and asking for the resignation of reggie because of these reasons is beyond ridiculous and shows a poor understanding on how things work.

This Guy is a good représentation of Nintendo failure , so much arrogant, stupid comments like " if people dont like our E3 its because they didnt understand how good it was, whats wrong with you ? Let me tell you what is good for you " , thé Kind of Guy who never pût himself in question

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

I certainly don't know how he would do if there was a job evaluation for Reggie, but I can certainly say I don't know how he would do. Perhaps Reggie is all bark and no bite, or perhaps he's making big decisions and making strong headway in trying to make Nintendo better, but either way, you nor I am qualified or are in the know of how he's really doing. We can take from him all his comments and deeds done for the last 5 years and try to antiquate it into a decision--fired or continue his services--, but we really don't know. We're outsiders trying to make out what he's doing. But rest assured, there are people watching him, looking at his work, making headway on which to lean on his future. Let's let them do that and us just continue to play their games or whatever you normally do.

I've seen this same thread for the last 7 years. also the "Iwata version".

He needs to go too.

In most companies when your premier product line goes tits up you get canned.

Reggie is just out of touch, and makes himself look clueless everytime he opens his mouth.

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

Honestly? I don't read any of Reggie's quotes from these articles as arrogant or anti-competitive. He never said that it was terrible to introduce games 4-5 years before they're released. He said that it's not a standard Nintendo procedure. He never said that virtual reality is bad. He said that it didn't seem like fun. He never said that Nintendo was better than Sony or Microsoft. He said that the PS4 and Xbox One lacked exclusives. Of course, when the title of an article states that he "slams" another console, it's emotionally charging his quote before the viewer has a chance to read it.

THIS.

Not like Reggie has much actual decision power in the company.

What did you expect Reggie to say? That Nintendo had a poor E3 and are going to have a rough year. There's loads of reasons why he can't say that.

and they were all right to exist, because if they left back then and new people came to nintendo, Nintendo would have probably been in a much better situation than they are now.
