I love Top Gear for how they interact with each other and the adventures that they go on in the show. It's hilarious. Glad to see that will continue.

I don't know about this one because the main protaginist in House of Cards doesn't have a drinking problem.

Valid point, my friend

Game of Torques it is then.

Hm, Netflix still doesn't work here in Spain, but I'm sure there will be a way to watch the new show.

Also Chris Evans to host Top Gear?! I remember when he appeared in some Top Gear shows and he looked like ... how can I say it... nervous, accelerated, "full of caffeine" kind of guy. Is he always like that?

Hard to say, he does a morning BBC Radio 2 slot, listened to by 8 million people, he's been doing TV since the 90s with Big Breakfast, owned Virgin Radio, sold Virgin Radio, married Billy Piper, divorced her. Owns some of the most expensive cars in the world.

I'd say he's perfect. The only other person in the world not Clarkson who would/could do it, is Jay Leno.

Hmm, pie.

They should kidnap the stig put him/her, it in the back trunk of a car to put him on the show.

I'm pretty sure that Clarkson owns the rights to the Stig character, ie he is a creation of Jeremy, all they need to do is buy a white racing suit and put a silent great driver in it.

Edit - Great news btw, can't wait to see what they come up with, would love if the deal was signed with Sky, they have the blank cheque writing ability that Top Gear requires to have great adventure episodes, as for Evans... I just don't understand the interest people have in the guy, but I guess the same can be said about Clarkson in ways, a very marmite sort of personality or lack of, he could do well if he ropes in the audience to top gear.

I know that on paper he looks like a perfect candidate, even if his obsession for Ferrari may make him biased when dealing with Porsche and other supercars. It's his attitude that has me worried, I think he would be able to get me on my nerves.

Have no interest whatsoever in the BBC show but am wondering how much of the top gear format Clarkson and Co will be able to "copy" without being sued. Will segments like Star in a reasonably priced car be able to return for instance?

I'd watch it if Leno was presenting, have watched several of Lenos car videos on youtube the guy has real enthusiasm. The steam cars vids were especially interesting.

I'd say that just by changing the name and the track and shape of the circuit they'll be fine. Also the Stig, if they go with one, will have to have a new name.

But I hope they take this opportunity to change a bit and evolve. We know that May doesn't do well with supercars but loves small, cheap cars. And Hammond has a thing for off-road cars. With that in mind, they could split their task and give us better comparisons between cars of the same kind.

From what I have gathered so far, they are looking to sign with companies that will give them free reign to do as they please (or as much free reign as you can have in this day and age). It wouldn't surprise me if we saw a continuation of the adventure episodes, along with the usual news/talking/new car reviews/lap times etc. What I am wondering is where they will set up camp. What track will they choose to do all their testing on?
