Oh, Reggie. Am I the only one that reads this answer as slightly passive agressive? Sort of: 'We Know. We know. We KNOW. Now shut up about it.'

The only upside I can think of about the fact that there currently seems to be no new metroid in developement is that Retro is developing a new engine for something. That something hopefully is a new IP and not Donkey Kong NX. Not that Dokey Kong NX wouldn't also be super cool TP is a superb game, but it's not what they need right now imo.

That's just the Prime director. All that means is that the next Metroid won't be a Prime game (which they said they were done with the series anyways).

exactly my thoughts, i mean they have to have another real metroid game next year because its metroids anneversary

I hope we have 2D Metroid on Wii U at least

No and Yes, NO the Metroid Prime director said HE is not working on any additional Metroid Prime projects, YES he did said that a new Metroid Prime HD will take 3 years to make if they start right now. There is another director (Yoshio Sakamoto) who works mostly in 2D Metroid games (last metroid was other M, last project was supervisor of Splatoon) from whom we don't know much. Is not exactly a confirmation either way, but there is still hope.

That's just the Prime director. All that means is that the next Metroid won't be a Prime game (which they said they were done with the series anyways).

That would be news to the Prime director- He says he wants to make another Prime game but he has not been able to get the assets/resources to do so, that the next would be on NX (when/if there is one)

A strong lesbian bounty hunter with ptsd...Hmm hot.

Hopefully they explore this side of Samus on the next 2D Metroid game.

What it means is game development is very complicated and expensive and Nintendo can't snap their fingers and make all our dream games appear out of no where.
