same as Microsoft with XBONE

$359 PS4 500gb

$399 ps4 1tb

they will easily win the holidays with that big time plus all the exclusivity deals they have signed for this fall

and then next fall will be PS4 SLIM,NO Pricecut as they just don't need it.They will have

FINAL FANTASY 15 EXCLUSIVITY DEAL

GRAN TURISMO 7

UNCHARTED 4

KINGDOM HEARTS 3 EXCLUSIVITY DEAL(most probably)

CALL OF DUTY EXCLUSIVITY DEAL

GOD OF WAR 4

HORIZON

between now and 2016 END so they don't really need a price-cut with the slim

They can price-cut $50 in 2017 and then SUPER SLIM in 2018 and then price-cut in 2019,they have a big room to cut price and extend the generation as they are not as desparate as last generation with PS3

XB1 already landed marketing rights to KH3. You can see it if you watch the demo and how they present the XB1 copy first.

where

on SQUARE ENIX Press Conference, they showed botht the logo's

can you link it?

if it is then why haven't MICROSOFT shown it on their press conference, probably next year.

though i am not sure as KINGDOM HEARTS is pretty JAPANESE and SONY franchise and also the game director is TETSUYA NOMURA who is a playstation fanboy and would try to stop XBOX exclusivity and KINGDOM HEARTS was also unveiled for the first time as SONY E3 2013

Sony will carry on producing the 500GB version until Christmas and then faze it out. The reason for this IMO will be create a sense of a 'fire sale' with the 500GB version or 'clearing old stock'. This allows them to sell a lot of console without announcing an official price drop. And then when the 500GB version is put to pasture, the price will still be $400 (1TB PS4), still a good deal because of the extra storage. To retail 'extra' value, I think they'll shift the TLOUR to the 1TB version.

Yeah thats another scenario I was thinking about. Temp price cut 500GB model to 349 during xmas and then faze it out and have only the 1TB 399 model left starting  january.

that will not happen

going into 4th year, they won't keep the console without the price-cut

they are already low on exclusives and XBOX is just starting to get steady and come back

Low on exclusives? How so? PS4 is rolling in console/Playstation exclusives, and it has a fair few full exclusives coming its way. The exclusive game flow for the PS4 is exceptionally healthy.

They have only marketing and dlc and bundle deals this holiday

the position they have been in since launch, they could have come in and completely finished off XBONE but they got a little lazy in the middle.

Their E3 was legendary and probably i understand what they are trying to do now but they have taken a bit now and given MICROSOFT a slight chance to come back,if not beat PS4 but atleast close the gap or level it.

if SONY fucks up again next year then XBONE will have a real chance.

You realize both are really lacking in exclusive holiday releases, right? The One currently has new Tomb Raider. That's it. That's currently the exclusive Xbox One lineup for the holidays. Sure, it's better than what is basically currently none for November/December for the PS4, but not by a lot, especially when the PS4 has a strong October only really competing against Halo 5. All in all, though, third parties are always the ones who really win during the holiday season with new releases. Everybody is going to be looking at Fallout 4 more than anything else.

You realize the Wii U is still $299.99, right?
Sony will probably do what they did last year and bundle third party games.

The slim won't come at a cheaper price. If they price cut it'd maybe be $350. When the slim releases in a couple years, the price will be $399 with the older model at $300.

nt really XBONE has their biggest IP's main series launch on XBONE for the first time

FORZA 6

HALO 5

GEARS COLLECTION

TOMB RAIDER

and MICROSOFT will put load on marketing as they always do to claw back some marketshare and FALLOUT 4 exclusivity deal

what has SONY got

TERAWAY UNFOLDED...............lol

UNCHARTED COLLECTION without multiplayer

GOD OF WAR 3 REMASTERED...............they cud have added other 3 games too

UNTIL DAWN................small new ip

now i know SONY will have a $50 price-cut and MGS5,STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT,CALL OF DUTY,ASSASSINS CREED,HITMAN,FINAL FANTASY 15(probably) DLC,MARKETING AND BUNDLE exclusivity and that is more than enought to crush XBONE

but if they had LAST GUARDIAN(shame on SONY,its been 8 fucking years),FINAL FANTASY 15 assured release(SHAME on SONY and SQUARE ENIX,its been 10 fucking years) and UNCHARTED 4 then they wd have outright come and finished off XBONE this holiday and not have to worry one bit later

PS4 SLIM will not release in a couple of years but next year

and it would be stupid to release older expensive to produce version at $300 and cheaper to produce SLIM at $399

PS4 SLIM will release without a price-cut next year with $349 PS4 500gb and $399 PS4 1TB

I think last gen has spoilt people and raised their expectations on when slim consoles actually arrive.

I would be surprised if we see a ps4 slim before 2017. I have it pegged at a 2018 release and a $199 price point. Two years before the PS5.

PS5 will not wait more than 5 years to launch simply because PS4 is so underpowered compared to PS1,PS2 and PS3. Those consoles had huge boosts in power, PS3 in particular. PS4 doesn't have that advantage and by year 4, games will have topped out totally. Hell, I wouldn't be shocked if it gets maxed out by next Christmas.

I think we'll see PS4 Slim by 2017, but I had PS5 launching the year afterwards.

The problem is still hardware price, really. People seem to expect game consoles to come out of the gate acting like high end PC's, but that's too expensive. At the same time, it won't be worth turning out the new $400 console in just another couple of years. That will be an even less substantial boost than PS3 to PS4. The problem is that we're starting to see the limits of gaming. Going forward, systems will only be so much more capable. So what if the PS5 will be able to do 60 FPS with marginally improved graphics? Who cares if the PS6 supports 4k gaming and can do 144 FPS on average? These aren't going to be game changing increases, which is exactly why it seems odd to me that people are expecting a new generation so soon.

Even if the PS4 wasn't a substantial boost, that was the best they could do for a $400 console over seven years after the launch of the PS3. I feel that alone speaks volumes for certain walls we're beginning to hit in gaming.

If what you're suggesting is true, then aren't you afraid that gaming as we know it will implode? How long are people going to tolerate the same experience? I've been playing games for 33 years or more and this is the first generation where I am no wowed. The PS4 and Xbone, they feel like prettier PS3 and 360s imo. It's really taken a substantial amount of excietment out of this generation for me. I couldn't imagine next generation providing the same thing where we get prettier versions of the same games etc.

Maybe VR is the solution?

You're not wowed because you keep playing cross gen games. Or you're getting too old and need something new in your life. Whats with the hyperbole? We're only 1.5 years into the new gen. What game did "wow" you on the PS3 after only 1.5 years? No PS3 game looked particularly amazing before KZ2 and UC2 in 2009 after being 3 years on the market.

I've been "wowed" more this gen than any other gen so far. Driveclub, Infamous SS, Killzone SF, The Order 1886, those graphics have blown my mind, and it doesnt stop there as Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 4, Ratchet n Clank and unannounced ones like GoW 4, GT7 etc will look even better thanks to Huma and future proof GPGPU computing of PS4.

It's only the start and games already look this crazy good, it's gonna be an awesome gen.
