I'm not sure.
Both years, 2016 and 2017, are possible. With the latest E3, there's merit in saying WiiU is on it's way out making it likely for a swift replacement in 2016. However, they would probably wait for another year to be better able to bring a more viable upgrade and I just don't see them releasing a new console so soon into the current generation and so soon after a potential reveal next year, it's not really their style.
So I'm not sure and won't exactly be betting on it, but I'm still leaning more towards 2017. November 2017. For a home-console variety of course, a handheld variety might be a different story, though the 3DS is actually selling so who knows.
