I don't view my relationship with video games companies like I do with a sports club.

I have silly blind devotion to my club even if they stink for years and break my heart. I can grumble about them, but I'm not going to switch loyalties based on who is winning.

With video game companies my loyalty is based on them making games I enjoy. If they stop doing that then I stop buying their games and go to companies that make games I enjoy.

My loyalty is to gaming first, and the companies second.

Yeah all fanbases going through this same thing. I even remember the outcry when Kinect was introduced on 360. Xbox was ''dead'' to people.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion.  However, the issue with having this quoted mindset is that you are telling a company - an entity that exists solely to make a profit - that you will blindly support their quest to do so.  

If a company makes a product I like, I buy it.  If the product stops being something I enjoy, I stop buying it.  If someone comes along with a better product for the same value and the original product is still exactly as it was, I buy the new product.  People shouldn't blindly purchase or support companies because they have a track record.  People should vote with their wallets and their voices that they are not going to support things that lead to their own disappointment.  It is the only way to keep companies from taking advantage of their fan base.  Fan bases should be earned continuously, not on a one-time go and then blindly followed from that point forward.


Thats excactly the point. I will buy just what i like, and i didnt like any of the animal crossing titles showed at E3 so i wont buy them. But if you like the company, if you are a fan of nintendo, you wont say the things ive been reading the whole week like "im abandon ship" (lol), or "i wont buy any other nintendo console ever" or the worst of all, theres even a petition to cancell a game that maybe turns out to be a great title!!

Nintendo isn't my lover so I don't have to love everything about them to be called a fan. I have a lot of patients but this time was too much. They keep telling us they want to show games that are coming in the near future then they change and show us games coming a lot later and then they go back to we want to show games coming soon and back again! Make up your friggin mind already!

You compare DRM to a 600$ console which was fully backwards compatible and costed sony 900$ to produce?
