Forums - Gaming - Why do I enjoy playing games on my PS4 over my PC?

That's actually a really good point. Windows 7 Has awful multi screen functionality so I have to Alt Tab every game (except Tomb Raider awesomely). If something comes into my mind and I want to google something, or check VGchartz or Youtube I could get lost then forget I was even playing.

Similarily, whenever I get frustrated/bored in a game that isn't in full screen, I just quit for a while and go to YouTube or something, where, if I was playing on a console, I'd probably would've done anything to continue in the game rather than just giving up and trying again later.

I suppose no matter which console you own you have a huge company doing whatever awesome things they can come up with to entise people to buy their systems which really doesn't happen on PC. Linux, Mac and Windows just don't compete with each other. Steam has no competition. So.. that could also be a factor. You're constantly being massaged and asked if you would like more wine.

I vastly prefer my PS4 over my PC. Back in 2013, I built myself a Gaming PC. Years later, I've barely bought more than a handful of games for it and continued buying multiplats for my 360 over my PC until I bought my PS4. I just prefer console. It doesn't help that most PC games are digital and I'm against digital to a fault as I prefer a physical copy, so going console over PC is an easier endeavor.

I do LOVE the building, upgrading and customizing of the hardware in a PC. Lots of my youtube watching is cool shit related to that (I'm looking at you Linus + other tech channels) Maybe more than the actual gaming itself.

Well, Windows is M$ and since you most likely don't Bone. Pecking order is PS4 > PC > Wii > Ouya > iPad > Bone

That's how I see it.

I don't really equate my PC gaming to Microsoft and if I did it wouldn't bother me. The only reason I don't buy an XB1 is because it has the same games as my PS4, I prefer the exclusives OS and features of PS4 and Xbox exclusives don't interest me. And the ones that do end up on PC so I'm not inherently against anything microsoft :')

the Operating System is better for PS4 because its made for gaming

I feel the same way and haven't bothered to upgrade my pc in a long time.

PC always has that association with work for me, it's too easy to look things up, cheat, or simply get distracted. I still play on my laptop now and then with a DS4 as well, Yet it's not as immersive or relaxing as the simplicity of playing games on ps4. I played Elite Dangerous for months with DS4 on my laptop, with the game forum open and Netflix going at the same time, never really in the game.

Connecting the PC or Laptop to my projector is always more work than simply turning on the console. Balancing a keyboard and mouse on the couch sucks and lots of games need to be configured first to work with a DS4. The game must really interest me to take those extra steps.

I us ScpServer, it turns the DS4 into a 360 controller. And if you downloa 360 drivers it fools the game into thinking you have a 360 controller and 99% of games after 2009 will accept it no questions asked.

Gaming on PC is not enjoyable for me. I'd rather just browse the net or do something else on a PC. Just the thought of gaming while sitting at a desk puts me off of gaming. Also, I don't want to play with a keyboard and mouse. I'd rather play with a controller against other people with controllers.

I use to love PC gaming but am disgruntled with the (not often) issues with maintaining it. I guess I am a bit burnt out when it comes to PC's because I also work with them and want a rest from them when I get home.

I have enjoyed consoles far more since around 2008, knowing full well that graphics and power on the PC will be superior. I like the simplicity of just putting a disc in or download from the store and just play. I never have to troubleshoot driver issues or think about manually patching.

It just works and on a 1080 display that is fine. My friend is of the Master Race and feels he needs his UHD display and 100 FPS but I gave up on that expensive hobby long ago. I guess I am just over gaming on PC. I was probably turned off from PC gaming last year where I had a spat of games with huge technical issues and after spending days trying to get them to work, I decided then that upgrading from my i2500k with GTX660ti would be a long way coming.
